9/5/2023 2:01pm Picked up some Blud pre-mix and wanted to share info I got from the dealer. The flash point on this oil is 190 so looks like it's right there with Motul 710/Belray Si7 and is full-syntheic. Found out about by following Jared Lesher racing his YZ250 in the 450 class!

This is pretty much something that happens in all 2 strokes as they run out of fuel and lean out. The idle circuit in a Keihin PJ is based on this very principle. BTW it is never a good idea to let a 2 stroke run out of fuel because you also run out of lubrication.

8/30/2023 3:15am After talking to everyone here I've ditched the 927 for this reason. I now have Yamalube, Spectra Synthetic, and Belray for premix. I'll burn through the Yamalube first since the dealer gave me several quarts, I hate to waste it.

It is not a good idea to run the carb dry on a 2-stroke. You are not only starving it of gas but also starving it of oil every time you do this. You're fine with E-free.

I turn my gas off and lay it on its side to drain the carb while I move the stand to my truck. Running the engine till it runs out of gas is basically running it dry and that includes the premix oil that lubes the bearings.

8/29/2023 3:24am Thanks, this is very helpful. I run 93 Octane E-free in all my bikes. I tend to over think things and my brother in law is an engineer and a hot rod builder. He always tells me to stop worrying about spoiled gas and that it's not gonna hurt anything, especially when using E-free.

BCR-14401-00-00 is the air box part # RM has them in stock for 72$, you may be able to drill out the rivets on your old one and rivet the new one on instead of swap out all the parts onto the new airbox.

8/21/2023 2:31am I'm going to look at the GS synthetic! I looked up regular GS and I recognize the bottle, that is what I put in my KX60, Cr80 and YZ125 back in the early 90's, it was good stuff!

8/12/2023 2:49pm The dealership gave me a bunch of Yamalube with my bike, I can switch to that for starters. I used to have a chart of all the oils/flashpoint. Now that you say that I remember the 927 being high and is prob causing this due to my riding style.
