Greetings everyone!
Did something really stupid when putting plastics back on, used my Milwaukee electric drill with socket attached to speed things up. The lower number plate got cross threaded, then stuck, but wound up getting it out, but in the process generated so much heat that it melted the plastic hole behind the number plate. That particular mounting hole is a portion of the airbox. I couldn't find a replacement for a 2023, so I tried what was in stock at Partzilla to see if it would fit, air box assembly for a 2022 250X, but it was not the same part. Once I took the seat off, I could see that the black portion of the outer airbox (marked in yellow) is attached with rivets to the air box, so I am not sure if I can just buy a whole new assembly. The number plate isn't exactly flapping in the wind with that lower bolt gone, but my OCD won't let me live with it. If anyone has any knowledge of the correct part that would be very helpful, thanks in advance!

BCR-14401-00-00 is the air box part # RM has them in stock for 72$, you may be able to drill out the rivets on your old one and rivet the new one on instead of swap out all the parts onto the new airbox.
Lifesaver, Thank you. I definitely need to invest in a rivet gun now that I am back riding again.
Does anyone make replica plastics of the airbox? I found a Polisport part.no. for it in their catalogue but no one seems to sell it. Reason for asking is that the OEM cost about 180$ here in Europe which I find is a bit pricy....
