You’re right on one point - 450 class is weak. Again, we all know Jett is faster than everybody, why do you pick out an inexperienced rookie to compare him to?

Deegan had worked his way through the pack in Moto 1 and had expended a lot of energy crashing and passing people in the first moto. (moreso than Jett and Hunter), who had hole-shotted and had a clear first half of the race. In moto 2, he was more gassed than them. By the end of moto 2, when opportunity arose, to pass Jett, he clearly did not have the energy. You can see it clearly in Buttery's video.

Why are we comparing Deegan to Jett? Jett’s faster, duh. Why go to nth degree to try and hammer that in? It’s just stupid. Because he trolled Jett early on and doesn’t apologize or roll over? Here we are trying to build some kind of Jett superhero scenario against a kid rookie. Ridiculous What we should compare is when Jett goes quasar - only when Hunter has a comfortable lead in the points - Hunter at Pala, and then goes 1-1 at Hangtown. Hmm

Agreed. I absolutely cannot stand Deegan. But he is a bad dude on a bike and very impressive with what he is doing so early in his 450 career in terms of pace and consistency.

I agree, he dropped him, and he's not at their level. My statement, was that I wouldn't count Haidens last 2 laps for comparison, as he likely mailed it in, after realizing he can't match Jett's pace.

I'd push back a bit, and say the last 2 laps Haiden realized Jett was on another level, and backed it off. I'm not a Deegan fan, but have to give him respect, he's an animal out there, and the closest one to the Law Firm.

I think the only one you’re trying to convince is yourself. I don’t know very many people that said Deegan would beat everybody and dominate. The general consensus, even among Deegan fans, was that he would probably win some races, but wouldn’t beat Jett, Hunter, Eli or Prado on the regular. For the few people that did say Deegan would dominate and win, individuals like yourself counteract and balance the lunacy with your own nonsense. I think at times Haiden can run their pace. We've seen it in quali's and at various points in motos, and I'd imagine it will happen more often. Every rider out there is constantly seeking incremental growth but since he's newer to the 450 I'd imagine probably has more places to grow before his returns diminish. One strength I've noticed from Deegs is that he's very good at hitting a benchmark and then treating that as a new launching off point. Set goal > barely achieve it > learn to normalize it > stabilize > set new goal > repeat...

I know the topic got downvoted into oblivion (which I guess is cuz the American fans are stoked on some fresh faces who could challenge the Hunter bros) but overall I think its a rushed and premature move. I think they could have made more money waiting a year or 2 in GP's and then come over as 22 year old prospects (still young) with a bit more SX under their belt (maybe do some offseason SX stuff or WSX to get better prepped). Hopefully they’ll race 250s. Very low chance of making it thru 450 supercross healthy.

Deegs is on his own island it seems. Glad to see is isnt mailing it in yet. I know he recently talks about bike set-up but he is also watching the Law Firm skipping over bumps into corners etc. Before the Laws started riding this way it was just go as hard as you can and tough it out. Deegs needs to adapt this style and of course bike change is required but it will not be instant magic.
