Thanks for the discussion, ML and I were talking the other day and he mentioned this...mostly it's never good when you're on here but this wasn't too bad! LOL, I get it- we do have lots of partners..someone added it up a year ago or so and out of five hours, including the 22 min commercial, the ad reads were total 45 min. Just came across the news on Instagram, absolutely gutted by this as it seemed like he was really starting to make a recovery. Been a long time fan of this man and learned so much about working on dirt bikes from his videos. Seemed like such a genuinely nice and easy going guy, perfect person to park next to at the track. I’d be willing to bet a lot on here also learned a thing or two from his YouTube videos. Rest in peace, Cameron.

We’ll I ended up sticking with what I know and picked up a 2025 yz250f. I’ve got 2hrs ride time on it now. I’m pretty impressed, 250f’s have come along way. Could use a little more bottom end, but I also love how it screams up top. It’s a fun bike for sure. Any advice on slip ons? Man that thing is loud, would like to quiet it down and hopefully not loose any performance or bottom end.

10/23/2024 5:51pm I had a 23 300sx. It was a fun bike, but traded another vital member for his yz450. I’m not sold on the air fork. I am casually looking for a 22+ yz250 for a 2nd bike. My recommendation would be to update your 2020 with the 2022+ subframe, seat, tank etc.

Kind of itching for a new bike (2-stroke only of course). For context, I have a 2020 YZ250. It has a pretty fresh top-end and a Lectron carb. But I have been eyeing the 25' 300 SX. I want a freshy, e-start, efi, etc. Would that be a mistake? What are the pros/cons? Have you ridden both, which one do you prefer an why? Thanks in advance.

Have you thought about a new KTM 300sx? The motor is super easy to ride but will have more power than your YZ. Its like a 3 stroke as it has bottom end torque like a 4 stroke but revs out and feels lighter like a 2 stroke.

If you have the means to spend $1100 bucks on a vortex ECU, go with the 2023 or newer yz450f (all said and done might be cheaper than any new ktm). I have one on my 23, there is 10 maps to choose from and I use the linear map. It is so much damn fun and easy to ride. The suspension is great out of the box as well. I am 6' 4" 200 pounds and I run haven't touched the suspension. Just overall a great bike.

If you’re looking at a 250 four stroke just do yourself a favor and go with the YZ250f. Its got the best suspension off the showroom floor and a fantastic engine. Its a great bike. If you go with a KTM you’re gonna be constantly fighting your suspension til you send it out and have a KYB conversion done. My opinion is just avoid all the nonsense and get a Yamaha.

The age old question, which bike do I buy? I’ve been a long time 2 stroke guy(never owned a 4 stroke) and thought it’s time for a change. I’ve been riding Yz 250 2 strokes for almost 10 years and am gonna buy a new bike and can’t decide between yz250f, ktm 250sxf or 350sxf. I like the amount of power my Yz makes but just want a smoother easier to ride bike, since I ride mostly hard pack tracks and want to be on the track longer. So I guess my question is which bike is gonna be closest...
