Are there other sports you can be a pro one week, amateur the next, pro again a week later..etc. Seems unique to mx but maybe I am wrong..

NASCAR, drag racing don’t care because skill not biggest factor.. But with NBA, NFL, MLB, etc..where can you be a pro, then step back and compete against people who want to be pros on the biggest amateur stage, then step back up and be a pro?
