The correct answer here is to mod yourself. I went from 270 to 170 pounds. No mods will make you as fast as you can be unless you're in the best shape you can possibly be in.

1: Riding lessons. poor technique / form are why your lap times are what they are, and lap times wont come down with mod parts. Lessons are relatively inexpensive vs unnecess mod parts. Then Tires, and Suspension.

No way it's mental. If it doesnt have a good seat cover, at least 30% of my mental bandwidth goes to "hey, try to stop sliding back" and that interferes with "hey, go faster and dont die".

Speaking of calling it..my 3rd lumbar opp. 1st was L-5-S1 fusion years ago. Last April was a microdiscectomy which didnt help the left leg numbness, and last week on Dec 6 L4-5 fusion. feeling tip top no more numbness in my left leg (yaaay Ill be able to hocky stop using that leg instead of just turning) zero pain I cant believe how well recovery is going

I’ll second suspension. I send my sons stuff to PR2 in PA and their motto is “it just works” and it really does. If you feel safer, you go faster is my experience. Not to mention not having to be quite so concerned about going a little short or long and it hurting. Like others said good tires and everything being “dialed” and working properly.

I get my sling off Wednesday!!! 🙌🏼 Seriously, F this thing!! It’s been six weeks of 3-4 hours max of any sleep this whole time. I still can’t tie my shoes, get dressed, cut my food but, things are getting better. After getting this sling off, I’ll be starting physical therapy very soon so, yeah, there’s a little positive.

I gave up riding, at first, because my kids were making it pretty far in the sport and the maintenance and travel was making me not even want to ride anymore. I was more dedicated to my sons. I took 5 years off. I came back because I had an extra bike in the shop and had the itch. About 4 rides out of retirement and I exploded my L4, damaged liver, and collapsed a lung. I wasn't being risky. It was nothing. A stupid little nothing with a huge impact. I put my family in a really tough spot...

Going fast on a powerful motorcycle is like a drug addiction. It is so hard to quit. I love it and hate it. At 54 I am too beat up to moto anymore so I get my fix doing track days on a GSXR. When I got addicted to motocross at age 12 I don't think getting old and trying to break my addiction was on my mind. Looking back I would do it again. I'm like a freaking junkie.
