bowser Added a reply to STIC metering unit

The STIC vastly improves low end in my experience, makes the bike run super clean and strong, but smooth strong. As smooth and linear in not better than my TPI did but a whole heap more power. Bloody things is warp speed when revved out now. Would make a 125 fun

That FC looks sick. Hope the FE300's look like them. The Ktm graphics guy must of knocked off at 2pm, looks half finished

I knew it was close to that. If you run your oil that low make sure you change it a lot more frequent

trax shock are not much of an improvement over standard. is bmore economic ways to get a better shock. Puts flame suit on waiting for people who want to justify their trax shock cost to tell me i'm wrong

Anyone else using one? Have been using one in my 18 300XC for a little while now and it just keeps getting better. I was running the recommended jetting 50/182 and played around with it a little bit but didn't fully understand the concept of what the STIC does. I decided to throw the Mikuni back on which has been...

bowser Added a reply to New set Custom KYB forks for KTM/Husqvarna

You can do KYB conversion to CC fork relatively easy, all you need to do it rethread the lug for the KYB rebound bolt. Xplor, 4CS, AER conversion all require a clamped adaptor to be used which makes the rebound bolt poke out. I have done a heap and there is no other way without compromising stroke

I haven't measured it. You can tell just looking at the seal design and feeling the seal material it will be more slippery, even more so than the 18's

the install is easy, AER are very easy fork to work on. The kit comes with good instructions on USB stick but basic process is listed below You need the cap tools - spanner and nut thing to remove base valve (ebay), a heat gun (butane or something to melt the locktight and block of wood with 12mm hole to...

Andy, at 40hrs there will be broken springs. When the springs break you lose all rebound damping. MX use will see that 40hrs drop to 15-20hrs. Springs are only around $5 each so extra $25 on top of service which i'm not sure if shops charge more for trax as there is more work stripping them down. The drop out...

Trax require a lot of maintenance, expect to have it apart every 40hrs at most to replace the little springs. Having had a trax before I didn't feel the performance justified the expense. For my next bike I chose to mod the stock shock. DLC, Kashima, Bladder, low friction piston band, SKF seal head, ohlins oil, xtrig, dyno tuned and...

bowser Added a reply to What kind of fork valving shims are these?

3/6/2019 1:07am
Called a delta shim. Notice the piston has 3 round ports? nothing special about them, slightly softer than a full shim but also allow more oil to flow past. Can be used in either compression or rebound stack
