I got some used cone valves recently and wanted to see what other people my weight range are running (190-200). The person I got them from was 40-50lbs less than my 200lbs I'm guessing, and his settings were: red cone, 4.6 spring, 400cc, 2clicks preload, and 12 on rebound and compression valves for vet A mx. Will I be able to get in range with the 4.6 springs and adding some compression? Any suggestions would be great

Looks like a 2018 250 smoker, from previous posts of his.

Yep 18 250sx. The guy I bought them from got them from wp directly. His bike was a sxf450 so that would help with the weight difference

I’d still suggest at your weight going to the .48/.5 fork springs. Maybe going a couple clicks more on preload if you have a pin spanner or a tool to make that adjustment. If you’re also a Vet A, then you should be pretty money after that assuming you’ve got your shock dialed in for you.

I have a set on a 250sx and weigh 170. I’ll check the sticker and see what my settings are this weekend. I know I have a 46 springs though. A 46 spring sounds awful soft for a 450 and a vet A rider.

Sounds good thanks! I guess I'll order some 4.8 springs.
