What kind of fork valving shims are these?

Saw this photo of some disassembled KYB fork and those triangular shims caught my
eye. What are they and how are they used? Where in the stack are they placed?

Called a delta shim. Notice the piston has 3 round ports?

nothing special about them, slightly softer than a full shim but also allow more oil to flow past. Can be used in either compression or rebound stack
