9/15/2022 10:07am Nice build! What you did bringing that crank back to life is amazing. Can you give more info on your wheel build? What did you use for rims and spokes?

Can anyone tell me what they used to replace the original needle valve plug? I’d like to replace it with a schrader valve. Thanks!

9/9/2022 4:51pm 450exc115 thanks for your help! I figured I’d post what I did in case anyone else wants to do the same. I purchased a 1/4-27 NPT high pressure schrader valve (see pics for info). Drilled out the existing threads with a 11/32 drill bit and tapped a new thread. I went slow and tried the fit a few times. You...

9/2/2022 3:30pm Thanks for the info. I was hoping someone made a valve that would screw into the existing thread. It looks tapered like a pipe thread.

6/4/2022 5:20pm Same here. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last week. 2-weeks in a row is serious BS! What is the excuse this week? Why am I paying to waste my time and get aggravated?

10/31/2020 1:51pm Cool find and build. Just curious if the seller had it posted as Short’s bike or did they have no idea?

Bent206 Added a reply to 87 vs 88 CR125
5/16/2020 4:22am The frames are nearly identical. The ‘88 has gussets at the swingarm pivot that the ‘87 does not. You can just make out the gusset behind the brake pedal return spring. ‘88 pictured.

5/8/2020 5:58am The fit-up probably didn't look that good from Yamaha when it was new. Considering what it looked like when you bought it, that looks great!

4/27/2020 8:58am I found the video. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to try this on my next build/restore. Always good to learn a new technique.

4/3/2020 7:19am What year YZ frame is in the background? Spare parts for this bike or another build?

4/3/2020 5:35am I'm a fan of your bike builds. One of my favorite bikes from that era. The oem color combo screams early 90's! It is very rewarding bringing these old bikes back. Fixing everyone else's "fix" and doing it the right way. Keep up the good work.

Bent206 Started a new thread Calling all 1987 CR125 Experts
3/30/2020 9:46am 1987 CR125 & 1988 CR125 compatibility . Can I run a 1988 CR125 engine (cases, crank, piston & rings) with a 1987 CR125 cylinder & head??? I think the only major difference Honda made to the ’88 was increasing the wrist pin bearing size. 1988 calls for different piston, wrist pin bearing & pin.

3/5/2020 4:42am I’ve never had this issue with a crank before. I’m able to push the crank bearing on with my hand. Is there anyway to fix this or is the crank half ruined? This is out of a ‘79 CR250. So it has some age to it.

Bent206 Added a reply to Run away bike
1/24/2020 11:39am I had a run away situation on a recent build. Luckily I was able to pull the clutch in and kill the motor. It wasn't as bad as the horror stories I've read. I did learn a valuable lesson though. Always check the intake boot on 25+ year old bike. I cleaned the Rad Valve intake boot on this 1992...
