Can anyone tell me what they used to replace the original needle valve plug? I’d like to replace it with a schrader valve. Thanks!

450exc115 thanks for your help! I figured I’d post what I did in case anyone else wants to do the same. I purchased a 1/4-27 NPT high pressure schrader valve (see pics for info). Drilled out the existing threads with a 11/32 drill bit and tapped a new thread. I went slow and tried the fit a few times. You...

Thanks for the info. I was hoping someone made a valve that would screw into the existing thread. It looks tapered like a pipe thread.

The frames are nearly identical. The ‘88 has gussets at the swingarm pivot that the ‘87 does not. You can just make out the gusset behind the brake pedal return spring. ‘88 pictured.

I found the video. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to try this on my next build/restore. Always good to learn a new technique.

Great build. Keep up the good work! Can you elaborate on the “torch method “. The results look fantastic.

1987 CR125 & 1988 CR125 compatibility . Can I run a 1988 CR125 engine (cases, crank, piston & rings) with a 1987 CR125 cylinder & head??? I think the only major difference Honda made to the ’88 was increasing the wrist pin bearing size. 1988 calls for different piston, wrist pin bearing & pin.

I’ve never had this issue with a crank before. I’m able to push the crank bearing on with my hand. Is there anyway to fix this or is the crank half ruined? This is out of a ‘79 CR250. So it has some age to it.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, mine is loose on the ignition side. I'll contact CrankWorks and see what they can do.

I had a run away situation on a recent build. Luckily I was able to pull the clutch in and kill the motor. It wasn't as bad as the horror stories I've read. I did learn a valuable lesson though. Always check the intake boot on 25+ year old bike. I cleaned the Rad Valve intake boot on this 1992...
