Bear41 Started a new thread Rekluse EXP for CRF450, CR250

Two rides on a Rekluse EXP, part # 6013. Works on the 1996-2007 CR250, 02-08 CRF450R and 05-12 CR450-X. THIS solved my hot-stalling problems! Use it just like a regular clutch. Great for moto once you get used to the idea that the engine will keep running pretty much no matter what, even when you tip over, go too hard...

I'll throw in an endorsement of Pivot Pegz. A little hard to find but worth it. They are spring-loaded to rock a few degrees back and forth (you don't notice it when riding) and it makes missing shifts nearly impossible. Very durable as I moved my first set through 3 different CRs and CRFs over 8 years and still use...

Pull the carb again and find out what jets are in there. Could well be that the prior owner diddled with the jetting and it's totally wrong. You can find the original specs in various places. And have you even checked the top end? The rings could be shot but still providing enough compression for it to start and run...

Bear41 Started a new thread New 2013 KTM 250SX setup advice

Just bought a new 2013 SX250. My first KTM after decades on Honda. I've read the jetting advice, but I'm wondering about first ride prep. Does the factory grease the suspension properly? (Honda doesn't). What other things should I check before taking it out for its first serious break-in ride? Strictly moto and I've been racing for a long time...

Bear41 Added a reply to Engine Ice in oil?

Could the sediment simply be the result of the Engine Ice and oil meeting up? A chemical reaction? I don't buy the idea of dust from the radiator somehow being the cause. A radiator is a sealed system.

Did you use a powerwasher on the bike? Six hours and a seized bearing is a little odd or a manufacturer defect, but if water was forced into the bearing then it would make sense.

I don't believe it only has 4 hours on it. Can't speak for the realibility but the prior owner has put about $1000 into the motor of what's supposed to be a basically new bike, plus another $600 in the suspension, plus tires, etc. That just doesn't sound like a "4-hour" bike to me. Why the hell would he need...

First post here. Just picked up my 2013 250SX over the weekend. It's got the 300 kit installed. How is KTM's overall bike prep especially the linkage suspension? Anything else need attention before the first ride? I've been on Hondas for the last 15 years and learned to always tear the suspension down when new to add more good grease...
