A buddy had one of these by today's standards they are tiny. Thought some of the 82 engine parts might fit. It was basically that engine updated to fit into the new pro link chassis. Knew someone with one got to ride it a couple times. It was kinda a funky one off year like the 82 rm80. It was amazing how fast the 80's changed from 80 to 83

One of the bikes somehow had a pretty current exhaust hooked up to it. Once apart I realized they used what looks like a gas line you would use for a gas dryer as the connection! Along with a homemade mount..

Started a resto a while back for someone and figured I'd share the journey. He was able to get three 1980 CR80's and we decided to build two out of the fleet. I've never done two builds at the same time, and probably never will again LOL. As many of you know, it's a very time consuming "hobby" and doing two just doubled the frustration, but in the end it will be twice the satisfaction..I hope! Why oh why do I buy cheap old (but not that old) bikes and get them running? To support the second hand parts market? See if my wife’s ability to swear is more fluent (she’s Hungarian)? Or maybe because garage therapy is pennies on the dollar compared to traditional psychotherapy. Well, I don’t know. But here is my latest lost cause, a nothing special 1987 RM125 H with seized engine.

As you can probably guess I got it off Craigslist for $200. Complete (well, we’ll see) but with mangled handle bars. And you can’t forget the free mouse nest...

Sweet had one and loads of fun on it coming off an 84 cr60. My friends either had kx's or yz's then and i was a honda kid. The 84 n 85 years had the atac system.

Who makes those gold wheels, that's a nice touch? I like the fact that they aren't plastered with a manufacturer name like most modern rims (DID, Excel).

Great build! Lots of love and dedication! Does this CR80 have an exhaust valve or similar system? Because it says ATAC. I am curious because the 99 CR80 I rode did not have any. If yes, wonder what made them delete the system.
