I’m not sure if its because timing and scoring was so jacked up, but a few different times throughout the night they just took everything off the screen… and it was awesome! It would be nice if they did that more often. I know its good to have timing and scoring up but you dont need it every single second, maybe when its the middle of the race and its just a battle up front take it away for a few. It was like getting glasses for the first time after being used to split screen double vision for years...

Great roder, great ambassador for the sport and great person all around from the little time spent around him. He will be sorely missed but well earned retirement. While that crash might not have physically been what did it, watching it over and looking at it on pause for a minute is enough to make anyone who doesn't need to do it anymore at that level and intensity walk away. That crash could have been a tragic end to an amazing carrer he was planning on walking away from 2-3years ago. I could imagine if that went badly sitting there...

End of an era. Absolutley grateful to have seen so many great races in person over the years and meeting Eli a few times. Legendary career he has had himself and man, moto just isn’t going to be the same without him. Happy he gets to spend more time with his family now. Cheers to Eli.

8/31/2026 9:40am What a bittersweet monday morning. Over the years Eli has pulled such a huge fan following, including me. So fortunate to have seen him at glen helen in 2015 smoke the entire field. Only thing I think that came close to that was when Bubba was the fastest man on the planet. Damn Im going to miss beast mode.

I completely agree. For some, the family aspect works as long as accountability is present. Chase seems to think he is not the issue. It's the bike, it's the team, it's this or that... I feel like Tomac, Deegan, and the rest of the family environment riders all accept the situation they are in and work around shortcomings to find a solution. I was lucky enough to be at Glen Helen in 2015 also but even more spectacular was during the week on Thursdays my son and I would stay late to ride the rough track and he would be there testing suspension with the showa guys the things he would do coming down Mount St Helens was non-human maybe touch the ground twice three times all the way down!
