Ask LouDog if it seems like this post is going to help him out some?
No need for details, but as said above, you can't beat networking.

and Lou did not come in here asking for anything or begging for anything or post a paypal.
He only made notice that his rider, who was believed not available, is now available.
Let's see...tell the moto-world that a Nat-level Pro rider DOESN'T have the RIde that EVERYONE thought he did?

Check.

Have a Team Mgr respond?

Check.

Have other folks that seem to know some of the sponsors/companies take note and are gonna be thinkin' about ways to help...

Check.

Yup, pretty sure Lou has it figured out.

Good point, as usual, Dave.

Weston should come up and race the Canadian CMRC series. He'd no doubt be top 5 in the series and would pick up some support as the series went on.

Why not stay at Rock River and Yamaha steps up and helps with entries, travel and kicks down some good parts?
Everyone wins.

Why hasn't Yamaha been giving him factory parts threw the SX's..........or to any other privateer? bottom tier team.

If you give your employer 2 weeks notice and the NEW job falls threw...... does the employer stop looking for someone....or.... tell someone they already gave the job to..... sorry we are going to hire back the person who quit? Typically NO.

If Weston has to buy his own bikes, how would you make a decision on bike brand? local, contingency, or best deal, durabilty? Can Loudog chime in?

Needs to be a Kawi if I'm understanding the Contigency situation correctly!

Is TiLube racin' the Nat's?

Most Pros say the difference in bikes is very small, so I'd think they would go with the best contingency program, Kawi & Suz.

I'd love to see Weston on a Kawi 450. The way the bike has a big feeling to it I bet it would suit him good. Most people don't know the stories behind Weston's results outdoors. He had many top ten rides outdoors only to fall victim to bad luck, like running out of gas a bunch of times in 2009. If he had solid support and good equipment he is a proven top 10 outdoor rider. Hopefully someone picks him up!

According to my Canadian magazine sources a Canadian National Win pays as much as our middle of the pack finishes.

Wow I just came home from work and I cant beleve this this is 3 pages. I will try to reply to some of the posts.
Jmar is right it costs more to race the nationals then you earn.
Merge is only helping Jimmy Albertson out with support.
Lumpy hit the nail on head he is very accurate.
Flanerd made a point I have been getting a few calls from people that want to help.
We thought about the canadian nationals and have talked to a few teams but nothing as of now.
Yamaha or Rock River will not pay any expenses.
Kawasaki has the best contigency.
Ti Lube is not racing the nationals.
I just wanted everyone to know we no longer had a ride and who knows all the facts why it happened, who cares it over.
I just want to Thank everyone that understands how this sport works and how hard it is to get support, this Post is working
we have had some calls. Thanks again Louie and Weston.

Kawi's, a decent support team and a solid practice bike that's not too far away from his race set-up...

Again, Top 10.

It cracks me up how people come on here and run there mouth about Bullshit. We are not begging for a ride we are letting the industrie know that are outdoor ride fell apart and we are now looking again. I went to Seattle last weekend and everyone still thought we had a ride. I need to look out for my sons best interest for his racing career I'm the one that helped him get to this point and I'm the one that will help him get to the next level. I f we dont get a ride we will buy one bike and race the Glen Helen G.P. if were ready and race about five nationals that we will drive to. Thanks everyone that understands.
right on and fuck these twits baggin on you and yer kid, like to see one of these pussys talk shit in the pits in person...but "alas" they're pussys

Excelent choice,

Im not a huge fan of Hondas, as far as me riding them, but ive always considered the factory Hondas the best pro bikes there is.

Good luck Weston and Lou

Are you sure about that? Plus I was referring to lumpy's comment "What a shame a top 10 rider is broke after 6 SX's" From what I understand, weinert is picking up the tab for his team. Hence my question, "what happened there?"

Weston & Les and many others have been paying their due$ for several years now.

Most of the Pro racers you see under an 18 wheeler awning are not paid a dime to race.....in fact they pay to be our entertainment! Only A tier teams like Factory, PC, FC Geico, riders get paid salary + expenses & bonus $$

Most riders pay all of their own expenses...... Licenses (rider & mechanic), Travel (flights or driving when close) Food, Mechanic, Bike, modifications, suspension, parts ect....... this all costs much more than they make back with racing results ........and on some teams the well to do rider pays $100k for the opportunity to be on the team.

Rock River, Jimmy Weinert Racing and many other B level teams offer the riders a nice comfortable relaxing place in the pits and transportation for the bikes but do not pay expenses. Teams like this are a HUGE help because this allows the racer time to train and practice instead of driving 1500-6000 miles a week sitting in a van with the bike. JWR brings more than most teams to the table by welcoming their riders into their 1st class training facility and training them during the week.

Ever notice how a good solid rider hits the Pro scene for 2-3 years with good results only to disappear? These guys are all going into debt chasing the Pro dream........until they can no longer afford to do it. It is a sad story I have seen for 20 years that often breaks up the family.

Some of you say.....get a job. Training and practicing at this level is a full time + over time ........it only pays in your results though. If the riders gets a part time job they have no time to train enough to perform at the top level. All SX & national race weekends require you to be at the track Friday at 7AM and Saturday with traveling in Thursday & Sunday. That leaves 3 days to work a 40 hour job. Oh wait its often a cross country drive and they have to drive for 2 or 3 days to get to the race......and 2 or 3 days back......where is there time for a job? This is where flying helps but wait.....the race winnings dont pay enough.....more negative income.

I often wonder how many times the IRS has audited a Professional MXer when looking at their taxes 95% loose money year after year.
Just wanted to say Lumpy's comment above was great and spot on! Really puts things into perspective.

Good luck to Weston. It is apparent that Vital is the home of internet "networking" within MX/SX for the masses.

But the real issue is that there isn't enough money being spread around to have solid rides for 80 riders or even 40 riders. That's unfortunate. Hopefully the economy will continue to improve and this will change.

Vital mx should sponser him. See the bike under the heading craigslist add of the day.

Weston was riding my bike today it is a 09 stock motor with injectioneering mod and FMF pipe and the suspension is set up for my old slow ass. He really likes the bike and rides it pretty good. We are going to get suspension set up for him so he can get the Kawasaki dialed for if and when we can get a new bike for him.

This is probably a really dumb and pointless idea from me but oh well haha.

Since suzuki city says that Jlaw will only be riding select outdoor rounds, why cant Wes ride for them? Or even ride Jlaws bike at the rounds he will not be attending?? Again before everyone flips sh** I no thats a long shot but just an idea they can make a phone call to and see whats going on..

Also, what about the guy from i believe Mxtrader.net or something? The guy that helps out Aj Catanzaro, to see if he can at least find a way to transport the bikes or even help with get on a new bike?
