Ok lets get some opinions here on the 11' SX champ. Who are you pulling for and why? Me, I'm pulling for Reed because of the adversity he's overcome. I like Dungy alot but he has not shown one ounce of agression all season. I think it comes down to 2,22, and 7. The momentum is all #7's right now but mathmatically he needs some help. 2 just isnt getting on that box like he needs to right now and 7 & 22 smell blood IMO

I'm pulling for Reed because he's the guy that NOBODY wanted to give a ride to, so he started up his own team right before the year started. It would be so awesome for him to beat all of the guys who are riding the ride he could or should be on. Next for me would be Dungey because everyone (stupidly I might add) puts an asterisk next to last year's championship. After that would be Villopoto because of his awful injury he's coming back from. Stewart won't win 4 in a row, and even if he does I don't think he'll win the championship.

How I think it'll end up: Villopoto, Reed, Stewart, Dungey

How I want it to end up: Reed, Dungey, Villopoto, Stewart

I want Reedy to win. What a comeback story that would be. Everyone wrote him off last year and now he is six points out of a third championship. Come one Two Two lessgo!

I'm pulling for Dungey because he is my favorite rider. Not only that, he's a perfect example of what a professional athlete should be as well as being a quality person.

Pulling for Rd, or RV, RD just to show last year was nt a fluke! or RV after his bad injury! Reed has had a great career no doubt, Stewart lost me as a fan sx only, tv shows and wanna be cop! And I m a huge Metty fan! Metty will kill it outdoors.

Well I always pull for Reed. Always will. Would be a great story for sure if he can make it happen. I would like to see him win next week to make it really interesting for Vegas. But the other three are not going to lay down. Although I think lately Stewy is getting his groove back and the Ryan's are somewhat cruising out there.

Something tells me the extra week and extra Honda parts that are laying around are not going to be good for the competition.

Vegas baby!! Vegas!

Who? Stewart.

Why? Because he's my favorite rider in that class.

RV... guy hates to lose. Speaks his mind. And rides w/o being scared. The ginger seems to be a smart ass which is a plus in my book as well.

I think he has a chance to go down as one of the best riders in the history of moto..

As great as this SX season has been I can't wait to see the high speed grueling outdoors. It's gonna be a good one. I think we will be able to see some separation of these top guys too.

I root for Reed.
I love Reeds riding style when he is just on it, like perfect fluid motion. Mainly because it reminds me of McGrath.
I also love the under dog role he always seems to take on every season.

I hope RV wins as well. Just a fan of the guy.

RV or Reed for me. Ive always liked Reed for taking the chance of leaving his home country at an early age to pursue his life's dream. He also seems like a real stand up guy. I've been a fan of RV since the 1st time I saw him as a rookie at Glen Helen. The guy can just kill it with raw speed especially outdoors. He's not as polished as Reed with style of riding or PR but he's still young and getting better all the time. Dungey is cool but he seems too closed off to me. Good guy. Stewart, never much of a fan because of the hype before he was even in the big leagues. JS is a great rider but just not my favorite. The TV show, taking riders out and other crap he's gotten himself into lately doesn't help.

Hoping Reed gets it. I have a lot of appreciation for him putting together his own deal and putting in the effort when we all know he has enough money to tell this sport to kiss his ass.

I was hoping that Dungey would have started this season off by kicking some ass from the get go. Little disappointed in his lack of aggression especially in a few last corner moments he's had this year.

I'd be happy to see RV pull it off though, always liked watching him ride. Hauls the mail, just doesn't seem to be able to put all the pieces together without something going wrong.

Stewart.....love watching him ride, but don't care to see him win the championship. Let him lose a few and maybe he'll focus everything on the racing and winning. No one has been able to match his speed but several of them have him beat elsewhere.

Wow, look at Vital go! Every post in this thread has been respectful, well thought out, with everyone pulling for their guy without throwing someone under the bus-good work men. I gotta go with TDeath and his thoughts on Reed and Dungey. Although I will say at this point that I would be happy for anyone that wins this thing b/c they all have their own story to tell. Each has faced adversity in some fashion. It has been awesome and I can't wait for the outdoors to see what unfolds there.

Dungey- it would be such an awesome story. Overcomes the DNF, takes the title through consistency and patience. Sort of like Stanton in '92. Removes the asterisk.
Second would be Reed, another good story this year.

All 4 have their own reasons why it would be great to see them win...

Villopoto - obviously what a comeback after last year
Dungey - overcoming the DNF and repeating with a stacked field
Reed - well a championship without the * to shut the haters up on top of the obvious (new team) would be really cool
Stewart - earning it after the crashes and off track BS would be impressive.

I'm a fan of great racing rather than any one individual but of the 4, I'd like to see Reed win. Again though, ANY of the top 4 would deserve it IMO.

reed...im a fan...plus, he's had alot of bad luck ...(haybail,wrecking),starting his own team(which is good)
rv isn't gonna do it while reed and stewart are in the mix
rd just isn't fast enough while RV,CR,JS are in the mix
js is too fast for his own good..he will bail in SLC.

I don't know why people think Dungey is holding back or not riding aggressively. Did yall not watch his performance in Seattle?

He got taken out on the first lap, dropped back down to 15th and pushed hard to within 2 seconds of RV! If he hadn't crashed in the whoops I really believe he would've finished 3rd. And consider also that he doesn't generally ride well in the mud or ruts, he was really pushing beyond his comfort zone.

I have a feeling Dungey will pull this off. It doesn't seem likely but I really think he is going to win. That's who I'm pulling for.

I'm pulling for Reed to take the title, considering everyone was writing him off before the year was over (and I'll admit I had my doubts) I think it's amazing he's within striking distance for the championship. I'd also like to see him take the title because of his off track attitude, he's willing to give us an insight which is rare in any sport.

Out of the top four, I'd like to see it end like this;

1: Reed
2: Villopoto
3: Dungey
4: Stewart

Cool thread

I'm pulling for Reed and Villopoto.

I want to see RV2 win because of what happened last year and since he doesn't have a title in the 450 SX class.
I want Reed to win because the guy is just flat out cool as hell, and I'd love to see him win one more title before he presumably goes to four wheels.

After Vegas though, I'll probably be more bummed that four incredible riders who raced their hearts out giving us such a great season will be walking away without a title, rather than being stoked for whoever ends up winning the thing. All the top 5 guys have ridden like champions this year.

I'm pulling for Villopoto, then Reed

Villopoto because i've been a big fan ever since I watched him at broome tioga back in the day. Also because of what he went through last year almost remounting a comeback to Dungey but then getting injured.

Reed just due to the fact that everyone was counting him out in the pre-season talk and he had enough balls to start his own team and race.

Wow, I'm SUPER surprised only one guy picked Stewey.

I would love to see either Reed or Dungey take this thing. Long time fan of both. I think asterix's are bullshit, and it sems people like to stick one besides both these guy's titles.

RV seems ( to me anyway ) a little too arrogant and cocky, taking credit when it was obviously a gift from another rider, or being too cry baby. I lost a bit of respct for him after seeing him up in Boni's face in the tunnel after the LCQ - that was not called for. Wasn't Boni's fault he crashed in the LCQ.

Off track attitude means something to me.

Villopoto because of his raw speed and tenacity.
Ryan Dungey - good kid and consistency.
Reed - good rider but not a big fan.
Stewart, good rider but not a fan.

As far as I am concerned, all five have been champions this year.

Pulling for RV. I just love his riding style. So aggressive, although this season he seems to have backed it down a hair. I really think that kid has that something special about him to be the next great one. Windham said in a little interview that we have yet to see the best of RV, I agree with him. I know he may come off a little dry sometimes, but how would you handle the pressure any of these guys are under. Hell, I thought it was cool when Mathes asked him why he hasn't done any interviews lately. RV responded with something like "I'm just wanting to do my own thing right now." I'd want to be left alone too so I could focus on the task at hand. If RV can't pull this I want to see Bubba win. Everybody thinks I'm a hater but far from it. He is by far the most exciting rider on the track and has ridiculous skills. After all the shit he has been through this year it would be amazing for him to still come away with this title. When I think about all the spectacular crashing he's done just this season, I can't believe he is still in the hunt! God I wish it wasn't an off weekend! Can't even hardly enjoy the races when they are live, they are on the gate and I'm like having a panic attack! lol Reaching in between the cusions make sure my gas is on! Go RV2!!!!!!!

I'm pulling for everyone of the guys that are in the championship hunt. I don't think I've been let down by any race so far this year and everyone of them had some part of it. Who cares if your a ginger, in trouble with the law, sound like a robot in interviews, or your earrings are bigger than my wife's? Everyone of those guys are hanging it out, every weekend. So congrats to whoever wins. I was pulling for you all along.

Any Reed fans in here? Lol I hope JS7 wins. I have always been a big fan of his style and skill on a motorcycle.

IMO they all deserve a title this year lol. It has truly been an amazing year of racing. I feel like everyone of the top 5 guys have had their big ups and downs but most importantly have given it their best shot no matter what the circumstances. Anyone of the top 5 guys can start in 20th and get a 5th or 4th place and they have all proven that this year. It's craziness.

Here's a Reed fan. I'm pulling for him big time. Now I know there aren't many true privateers anymore, but at the beginning of the year Reed was as close as it got to one. Nobody offered him a ride and here he is in the championship hunt with 2 races remaining.
