Fair enough.

Joe Defranco, one of the top NFL combine prep guys around:

You must remember that squatting, deadlifting, lunging, strongman training, sprinting, etc., all build real functional strength in your abs! These are the types of exercises that build the foundation for our athletes’ abdominal training. We will usually throw in some direct abdominal work in the form of high-rep ab circuits or standing, weighted abdominal training twice a week. This combination has worked extremely well for our athletes. To me, these activities are FAR superior compared to kneeling on a beach ball with your eyes closed. With that being said, “core” training using Bosu balls and wobble boards definitely has it’s place; but in my opinion, that “place” is in the rehab setting – NOT with healthy athletes looking to improve strength and performance.

I will point out one flaw with this quote, which is that it is referencing to the NFL. NFL vs. Moto.... they are on two different sides of the spectrum IMO. Here is my counter argument, and yes, while this is only one "opinion" Tim and Seiji are one of the best. Please read

http://www.racerxvt.com/virtual_trainer/keep_rubber_side_down.html
Im actually 9 weeks into Seiji workout routine on racerxvt.com and Within the first couple of weeks I could tell a difference. My main problem with riding was losing focus in ruts, breathing and having a sore lower back and neck the day after riding. After doing some different workouts on the exercise ball for a couple weeks I noticed I was a lot more focused through rough section and holding my composer a lot better. In a moto I could tell myself to breath a lot more and not to sweat the little stuff. My sore neck and back pretty much went away as long as I incorporated good core exercises. Everyones different though and what worked for me might not help some people. Probably helped that I started riding with a lot more A riders and watching how they rode and tried to follow them as much as I could to though.

Ryno has found a great niche, but this seems impossible to do on your own for any length of time. This type of training is suited for a personal trainer to motivate you or there is no way one can stay on it. Tough, tough, tough. Plus, this organic thing? It still hasn't been "proven" that organic is any better for you, at least that I am aware of.

if you really want a simple explanation or breakdown, i will type it out if i have too.
From the Mayo Clinic's article listed above :
"Organic food: Is it more nutritious?
Probably not, but the answer isn't yet clear. A recent study examined the past 50 years' worth of scientific articles about the nutrient content of organic and conventional foods. The researchers concluded that organically and conventionally produced foodstuffs are comparable in their nutrient content"

I eat a lot of organic food, but not because I think it's nutritionally superior.

I eat organic because it doesn't have the pesticides, hormones and antibiotics that are in conventional food.

people go download the insanity workout torrent...its a perfect workout for moto, its intense interval training, helps with flexibility, balance, LEGS, and a little core and upperbody. it pretty much covers everything very well. in my opinion its PERFECT for moto. definitely check it out if your looking for a solid workout program.
I would strongly bet 80 percent of the Pro Motocrossers on the line at the next Supercross would NOT make it through an Insanity month 2 workout.

DING! DING! DING!

And, without being genetically modified, it usually tastes better and has better texture.
Apples, tomatoes and strawberries are perfect examples of foods that have been genetically modified to LOOK better on the shelf but the taste is gone from the food or the apple is to hard to eat, etc.

Watched the youtube is all I can say, "wow!" I agree with Ryno's nutrition and work outs. All organic. My diet is currently "raw, local, organic" veggies and wild fish. I take a whey protein. However I use one of the cleanest whey proteins that you can buy. My perfect shake:

The Ultimate Protein Shake: 1 Scoop of Proventive "Harmonized Protein" (your choice in flavor), 1 Table Spoon of Organic Cocoa, 1/2 Table Spoon of Organic Maca, 1 scoop of Jarrow Glutamine and Creatine, and 7 drops of Sweet Leaf Stevia (your choice in flavor). Add 1 tablespoon of organic Coconut Oil to make the drink a meal replacement. I have eliminated sugars, heavy metals. The protein is whey. However, there is no antibiotic & rBGH. The glutamine and creatine are vegan. If you are on a raw or vegan diet, substitute the whey protein with hemp or rice protein.

I would love to hear Ryno's mission on fitness.
holy shit that shake sounds pretty epic but seriously that would take you like 1hr to find all this stuff at the store.

Anyways, I like Ryno and his stuff obviously works (look at him) . Apart from that fitness is very personal and you just have to find a method that works for you and keeps you motivated, no matter who's stuff you wanna follow.

I do a total Russian Kettle Bell work out as a base program with a few of the things Ryno does along with some other things that my personal trainer provides me including balance workouts. The KB workouts are fantastic and pure flat ass torture!~!!~ If i didn't race there is no way i would do KB's at the high level i do them now. Its that hard.. BUT i can easily get through two classes/4 motos each Sunday with barely a sweat and yes i ride as hard as i can in my class's 40 and 45B and finish in front most of the time. Before KB's i could barely make a moto..I'm going to be 59 this summer.
Holy shit, my hat is off to you. I too use kettlebells, but at 44 I'm quite a bit behind you. I'm in good shape for a man on the street, but I've got a long ways to go to get to where you are.

Ryan is a promoter of Mr. Paul Chek and the Chek Institute. This cat has written a manual on the human body call "How to eat, move and be healthy". This book has helped define my day to day healthy habits, he breaks it down into a simple form. Look into buying a copy, it'll change your life!

I'm not sure if you were serious on this one, but here's a few for your second question. Ell River Brewing Co., Stone Mill, Peak (heard they make some good stuff), and Wolaver's.

As far as workouts go, I do mostly cardio, and try to include swimming and mountain biking (haven't done any lately though since the bike is down and not a fan of the cold ha) into it to keep it fun. Not to mention they're good workouts. I'd like to try some of the workouts on the racer x virtual trainer...especially if it helps with a sore lower back, like surfdunn mentioned.

It's brilliant.

As for the diet discussion: Drop any sort of refined food. I used this diet before where i just skipped everything package wrapped, all my food was fresh with 0 refined sugars or fats. After a month i lost 12kg just with a diet and no extra exercise. My fatigue went away (you know, those daily dips where feel tired for a bit), i had acne on my back that just vanished, everyone that had not seen me for a while commented on how healthy i looked and i felt healthy aswell.
After that month i started running and after 2 days i ran 30 mins without feeling i was gonna die (i felt i was gonna die after running for 5 mins before the diet). The difference is insane! All the packaged food is just loaded with crap and flavour enhancers. Dietary foods with labels like '0.% fat!' are stacked with sugars.

Anything refined is plain bad for the body.

Now after typing that i just finished a bag of chips and 2 dr peppers. Grinning (im weak!)

That unless you have some proof of what you're trying to insinuate, you probably shouldn't be doing that.

Trying to find the study I was reading a couple weeks ago that found the bosu ball and balance board workouts had no real benefit to stabilizer muscles.
You apparently haven't tried them.....otherwise u would understand....

I have been reading this forum for years I just haven't posted. Thats how I know about the censorship issues around here.

Second I wasnt fishing the guy is crazy and I was just illustrating it with a joke and a video of himself.

I get it though that you don't want this place getting out of hand but you have to lighten up a bit.

Jees GuyB even ryno would tell you you've gotta unlock your hips manWink

PS. How many post does it take to get this "fishing license" you speak of. And are there different levels of fishing licences. Like a 100 post to get a small game license to fish for some Vince Friese's. Or perhaps 1,000 post to get a big game license to fish for Stewart's?

All things we need to knowSmile
