Of course, there are soooo many legitimate reasons for JS to have some red & blue flashing lights in his car. Silly police officers.

It's a felony because they have a problem with people doing this in Florida, then killing or raping or robbing the person they've pulled over.

He should have done it in Cali.
Shit.... murder is legal there if you have the right representation, which I'm sure he does.

I guaran-fucking-tee he will get to walk with a fine. The states are broke and James is worth much more to them paying fines than doing time. 'The system' is far more concerned with cash flow than the public's safety Evil

At least, that's how it always is when I get in trouble.

How can a doctor be so clueless? This is a serious violation and yes, Steve is right, bad things have happened by doing this. James will be made an example of and its his own fault.

Thats what it sounds like to me also. He was just giving the lapper the blue Flag and the lapper was holding him up.

Maybe it was his stupid friend that did it all? But whatever really. I'm guessing a majority of us have done more stupid things than this, and some got away with it without any drama... Isn't there some religious thing saying the one without sin should through the first stone or something? Wink Or are people trying to make him look J-Law-ish? LOL!

Again, we all fuck up at times, and it's not that these home schooled rasquals are supposed to be our mental mentors is it? Smile

I love how the cop makes it a point multiple times to mention that they 2 occupants were black.....HMMMMMM Sounds blown out of proportion to me.

"He flshed his high beams at me to get me to stop" I am willing to bet it was a get the F outta the way flash like I do when a douche cuts me off.

Still shouldn't have done it and I can see the problem, but I am willing to bet these 2 cops antaganized them along the way.

Bad example for the sport....PLEASE!!

I was at the Applebees after the Jacksonville race then a couple of "also rans" from the Supercross came in (main event riders)...those douche bags are a bad example of the sport.

James was just fucking around...this will be no big deal.
He'll pay a fine and get first offender misdemeanor probation, that will likely be suspended.

From the reports I read, Stewart is the one hit with the charge, which indicates he is charged with hitting the lights. But I guess the full story will come out in court.
Of things to get busted for, this is bad- but it could be a helluva lot worse- like NBA or NFL worse. Stewart's a good guy, but what was he thinking?? I'm sure he is feeling like crap right now.

HELL NO, but since there are so many JS haters out there this is their time to shine and sit on the computer and rip stewart. give me a break it wasnt like he was out smoking dope or doing anything that was going to harm anyone...no instead some d-bag off duty officer probably with not much of a life figures he doesnt have anything better to do...give me a break go do something productive and find some of the drugs teenagers are pushing or even better get some of these murderers and rapists........flashing lights and yelling something out the window....give me a break officer FARVA !!!!

Wow, i'm surprised that anyone would think his actions are OK. I guess since god blessed him with some talent he is allowed to do as he pleases? Any of us "regular" people would be in deep s*** if we did the same thing. You will figure out how big of a deal it is when it happens to you, and the guy carjacks you. Idiots.

Man what a bunch of BS, I bet there is more to the story that the cops aren't telling. Maybe someone cut someone off or something and they had a typical highway scuffle then JS said watch this. They didn't pull anyone over, there is no proof that they were going to pull anyone over, cops suck ass. He should have ordered his cop lights online or got some with instructions, I blame it on the flea market! Seriously Free James man, he didn't even draw blood.

Cops here in central Florida are just a bit edgy these days. Here in the bay area, we've had at least a handful of police officers shot and killed within the past few months. Off duty or on, I would not be tempting fate with the law officers in Florida at this point in time.

Not to mention all the gun toting civilians here.
It's not just Florida. A lot of us have been killed nationwide this year.

Will he even be able to race this weekend? im guessing that he got out of jail by means of bail and that means you cant leave the state until after your hearing right? i hope this completely screws up his chances at the title, he'll learn.

And also, he has everything that you could ever want. money, any vehicle you could ever want, huge house, mega compound. and he is still bored enough to go out and impersonate a cop? cmon bubba, use your head.

You guys are un fucking believable. What part of "felony" don't you understand? The law was there long before JS decided to act like a douche but you guys come off like it's the cops fault. The act of using red/blue lights is a felony because less scrupulous types use this very technique to pull innocent people over and rob or rape them. How are these officers to know what the motive was of the occupants of the truck? Since they weren't threatened by the presence of the occupants of the truck, should they have just let them continue on to possibly commit a crime against some innocent folks? And what makes you automatically think the cops were doing something wrong? From what the officer said, it sounds like they passed JS truck and then for some reason, ego maybe, JS decided to pull in behind the troopers car and try to slow them down. So what were the cops doing wrong here? Were you there? Do you have a crystal ball that allows you to see things?

You dicks are shooting off your mouths about shit you've done that was way worse but you got away with it, like it was something to be proud of. Amazing!! You also quack about how you hate cops because you got caught doing something illegal. It's illegal and you got caught. Who's fucking fault is that? Your's dumbass. You hate cops because you're a dumbass? Get over yourself. If you break the law, you deserve everything you get, and probably more.

Over blown? I think the police are actually downplaying the incident. The media, not so much.

Maybe Bubba should just yell Bomb next time he is in line to get on a plane. Those TSA guys got a great sense of humor as well.

We live in a post 9/11 world, fucking with The Man is not a joke. The Man has no sense of humor these days.

I am no James fan, not a fan at all, I have my reasons, but not a hater either. I don't think he had any malice intended, but he did fuck up for sure. I kinda feel bad for him actually.

Like Wandell said alot of us have died doing our jobs this year....Florida has had it really bad.....I'm sure it will be resolved easily enough, but lets see how some of you guys feel after some idiot decides that your wife, gf, mother, or boyfriend looks like a good target and uses his illegal reds and blues to stop them illegally to rob, rape, and or kill them.....It's illegal for a reason. There are a ton of predators using this tactic. If JAmes weren't famous we wouldn't be taliking about it, at least not much....Trust me I laughed, because I have the luxury of knowing they were harmless, however if I ahd been the one flashed it wouldn't have been funny, especially for the idiots who ended up with a pistol screwed into thier ear.... And to the goober who pointed out that O'Quinn stated there were two black males...That's called a DESCRIPTION!!! Youre either black, white or Asian...done with my .02, I think..... Hopefully he'll get a slap on the wrist and apologize for being dumb......

This. Thank You.

What James did was illegal, whether you like it or not and what he did IS a big deal. We've had a bunch of cops killed in NJ this year and they are doing their best to thwart these types of things.

"Ignorance of the law is no excuse" and James should have known the consequences before he tried that. I, as somebody who is sympathizing (to a point) for James, was trying to explain it to some non-moto people and no one seemed to feel any sympathy for him and said he deserves what he gets.

I think that just because so many people have been impacted by his skill on the track they can't accept the fact that he screwed up. It must be somebody else's fault right? Reminds me of those idiots defending Mike Healey for assaulting an elderly woman and stealing her purse.

I think I have read almost every post on this subject and surprisingly mostly everyone has been pretty respectful. I get that some should not blame the cops at all and I agree, but that is their opinion.

Right, That IS their opinion, which I rebutted because I feel they are unfairly blaming the police among other things. Please don't try to sidetrack the issue by accusing me of being a "bad moderator". Heard it all before my fine friend.
