I agree.
I think this was a prank gone bad.
Since the lights were hidden in the passengers bag, I would assume that's where they originated from.

I can hear it now, "hey I use these in Cali all the time to get thru traffic, lets try them here."

James is one of us.
He needs our support.

Just something for everyone to think about before you pass judgement. I know a lot of police officers, they are people, meaning there are good ones and there are bad ones with big cop ego`s. I have seen things like this happen before and the person not be guilty of anything other than poor judgement. If JS has flashing lights on his dash or where they can be seen from the front of the vehicle that is poor judgement, if a car was behind me going down the road with flashing lights I would slow down and start to pull over. I dont think JS was trying to pull them over but the cops took it that way. Does anyone on here have the balls to pull someone over and walk up to the car? It takes some. On the tv report they said JS pulled up beside them going down the road( I would say passing them and they pulled back up to him). At that point they flashed a badge or as it says the driver identified himself as a police officer( with out lights, siren, or voice, it really means nothing) he does not have to stop.I would not stop if someone pulled up beside me and flashed a badge, it will mean nothing in court. As far as the passenger tampering with evidence, it did not become evidence untill he was arrested , so that charge will be thrown out.If JS would have flashed a badge or had any police paraphernalia( badge ,uniform, hat )in his vehicle then it would be bad, but flashing lights is not impersonating and will never stick. They can write you a ticket or charge you with anything but making it stick is a diff. ball game. Yes JS will have to go to court and spend some money on a lawyer but I dont think pulling a car over was ever his intention. I am not a big JS fan but I do respect him and love to watch him ride a bike. And like I said there are good cops and bad one`s. I think he just got two bad ones that once they realized he was not pulling them over it pissed them off. JMO

I doubt you`ll get any support for him. Everybody will try to kick him while he`s down. This is like Christmas and Thanksgiving at once for half of the members here.

Could James be the first championship contender to lose a SX title as he has to go litter picking beside the highway on Vegas weekend!??Wink Shocked Shocked

Hopefully I see a bit of PR, jersey signing with the local cops should hopefully smooth things out!Wink

Like a good home made spagetti sauce, you need to let the ingredients simmer. Stir occasionally and gently add spices. Then sit back and enjoy serving it up. Anyone get served?

While this could be true, I am not falling for it right now.
Yes the news is carrying it, including here in Toronto, but all this could have come from 1 source, and if that 1 source is the one playing the game, then it will spread like wildfire. We'll know in the next day or 2 if it's an april fools joke or not.

Just watched the report on the local morning news. It is not a joke. Something did happen with James and the police.

Trying to pull someone over or not, it IS impersonating a police officer when you have flashing blue/red lights. Whether or not his intent was to pull cars over is irrelevant.
So true. He wants to drive on the road the same way he rides the tracks, like nobody else is out there and they have to move out of his way. At least he can't land on anyone out on the road....well at least it would be harder to do.

Just go this from a good source: "I just got a call from a friend at the Orlando International Airport that said James "Bubba" Stewart was just arrested for impersonating a police officer. Seems James uses blue and red flashing lights to get through traffic".

I just got word that Al Sharpton, P and Lenny are on their way down there right now as we speak. It seems that there may be some racial profiling going on by the local police!
