Yea Elon, that car with thrusters will be available to the public...  ...nice pitch salesman...
...that was a fun intro for the re-done Roadster.

Why all the downvotes? Bunch of old-school boomers maybe that don't like technological advancement🤔

Cool demo!  I was expecting closer to the Roadster that was launched into space. It doesn’t look like the top comes off of this version, though, so will they end up using a different name?

Will Costco gas stations start selling rocket fuel?!?!?!?!

Over here in non moto, nobody really gives a rat's ass about downvotes.

We all have our closeted stalkers who follow us around.

It's all part of the game.

Its wild , it uses compressed air that the car itself can refill according to what they said.  When I saw the first video I thought it was AI. I checked to make sure it was really the Tesla page and was blown away that it is real.  Its crazy that there will be many people who just write it off as AI and do not watch the videos.  Such a wild world we live in. Some kid can write a few prompts and make videos that have cars doing what they did in minutes.  And as a result it has desensitized people to just how insane this is. I've liked to try and get real photos that look fake photos hoped or AI, and now I've been thinking of how I could film videos that look fake but are real. And that Tesla launch did that on such a crazy level.  So wild to see. I would have loved to see it in person.

The vacuum feature and the insane cornering speeds that are possible  will be amazing to see.  I wonder if they will work on using the rockets for cornering too? To help it hold a line they could fire the outside rockets to push on the car.  It could probable do some insane corner speeds between the vac and rockets together.

I bet that range is pretty short if its all electric. Compressing and sucking, then powering the vehicle, I imagine its gonna really eat up the watts.

The ability to jump and flip sounds really cool. But will that be possible to sell a car that can really do all of that?  What kind of ticket would they give for doing a kickflip in your car over traffic?  They give out tickets for spinning tires and wheelies.  I wonder if that feature will be some insanely priced option that nobody can afford? Or maybe they make it so it will only do the tricks without somebody inside and only in certain areas . I don't know how they would decide where it would be safe to do stuff like that. Imagine how much the insurance would be on one of those!!

It’s marketing, not a legitimate application. We won’t see much of that translate into production. I would be curious on thrusters for anti collision scenarios though! Cool stuff.

Musk did say that  the car would be available and would have the ability to do those things. I just wonder if they will price it so high that it ends up being more marketing than reality, or how that will figure in.

Seems like there could be a bunch of semi practical uses for the boosters too.   If the car is sensing that Your gonna get rear ended, fooowsh !! It jumps into the air and the vehicle passes by under you.   Or somebody runs a red light and the boosters hold the Tesla in place while blowing onto the other car preventing it from T -boneing  the Tesla.

What next?   360 degree boosters all around the vehicle so it could encase you in a bubble of boost like a forcefield?  Other vehicles would just run into a wall of air and never make contact. I imagine that if they can control a vehicle so well with the boosters that it would be possible to do something like that too. It may not work for every type of accident, but I bet it could work in some.

How about rocket vests instead of airbags for MX. When you crash the boosters catch you and put you back on your feet.  Or provide a bubble like wall of protection around you that softly brings you to a stop.

So I guess that add-on is called the Space-X package...
...the road legality of the package will I am sure come under scrutiny, probably is a cool half million add-on...
...I can see some rich dumbass buying it and then heading to a close course somewhere and wadding it up...
...unless Elon puts a "nanny-mode" on those thrusters and you have to program in certain moves...
...IE, the kick flip.

Elon's just trying to show what's possible.

We've seriously lost our innovative spirit. He's doing his best to restore it.

I’m all about innovation but In the back of my mind, I would always be worried about the vacuum cleaner going on the fritz or the thing not rolling properly to upright itself before the boosters kick in during one of those upside down aerial maneuvers.  But 0-60 in 1 second would be totally awesome!

The upside down thing on the ramp was seriously cool.   Even more so than the jump/flip thing.

BTW - Do any of you other "old" dudes chuckle knowingly when the term "boomer" is thrown around? 😉

I will give you a googolplex of dollars if that is real...

Oh sure... you can do all the things shown in that vid...

But...

Not in one small ass car... impossible... just run the numbers on how much nitrogen it would take to land that heavy ass car from 40 feet high... run the numbers on what it would take to keep that car upside down for any length of time...

Does not one of you think about "if it's too good to be true, it probably is..." ????

There is a reason why we are slaves to the epstein class, in which Elon is one of, it's because soooo many people are willing to beLIEve anything they are told to believe...

So you're claim is that it's an AI generated video and it never really happened?

Did we also never go to the moon? How about those reusable booster rockets? AI?

People here forget, this is the guy who can capture a rocket booster with a set of BBQ tongs.

And as far as, boomer.

Never have gotten into the whole label thing., era's, dietary choices, political views and all the rest.

We just, "are".

Some of us just have more stories than others.

That's got to be the most hypocritical line I've ever read on Vital.

Love this place!
