Gatorade doesn't have any involvement in mx yet, this could be a good opportunity for them...and Reed to afford Pourcel?
I surprised they haven't already made there presence felt on the mx scene since all the other energy drinks already have, plus Gatorade is probably the only one that isn't actually bad to drink if your a professional athlete!

Anyone notice all the Gatorade logos at Daytona on the podium?

That's contractual with NASCAR tracks, as Gatorade is the official drink of victory lane, that is why every track has a "Gatorade Victory Lane" and as you walk the hot pit at a NASCAR track/race you see a rack for a drink cooler like ever 100 feet, as they put 5 gallon drink coolers up so each team/person has access to complimentary Gatorade during a NASCAR race

I'm pretty sure they have been an annual sponsor for the Loretta's Amateur National for quite a while...

Sounds good but I'm guessing Reed may have some Verizon stickers on his bike. He rode that Vodafone Honda in Oz last year. Isn't Vodafone Verizon there?

Just my guess.

Foster's is the worst tasting beer brewed in Australia. It tastes like crap and nobody drinks it. That's why we export it to England Laughing Tongue Laughing

Gatorade has been a longtime sponsor of Loretta Lynn's AMA Amateur National MX Championships. They have supplied all of the drinks for the winners' circle and impound areas and caution flaggers for years. It's not a title sponsorship, but it's cool to have them involved.

It's my first trip to Australia and my buddies and I walk into a pub. We're in our Navy uniforms, so it's obvious we're from out of town. As we're chatting up the locals, one of them says "First one of you fags who orders a Fosters gets his nose broken." I knew two things right then and there 1) Fosters sucks, and 2) Aussies are awesome people!

I was thinking the exact same thing over the last couple weeks since reed was on the pulp show ..... their new 3 part drink package would be PERFECT for the market of moto. While I am not an insider logic dictates this would be a very beneficial time for gatorade to get back into the sport in a big way just sponsor one team or rider they wouldn't have to throw THAT much cash at the sport initially but 100% of the riders and teams already have coolers full of it and most all are seen drinking it at one time of another at the races it has been a staple in the moto racing world for decades yet no title sponsoring of a team? Seems like a good time to get in and advertise as a healthier alternative to energy drinks they would have a good strategy to stand with out of the gate

RC/Stewart and or Pastrana were Gatorade sponsored before the onslaught of energy drinks, weren't they? Early 2000's?

Reed should get the original energy drink as a sponsor.

I remember seeing them on Gatorade bottles around 2002.
My son was 7 at the time and a major fan of Travis and Ricky so we had to buy it every time he saw one with them on it.

They had TP199, RC & James in about '02?

Here is some text from an ESPN interview with a Gatorade rep about them entering the BMX market-
ESPN: What made you guys want to start being involved in action sports and more specifically BMX?
Kenny: Gatorade has had relationships with various action sports athletes through the years; in the early 2000s, they partnered with Travis Pastrana, Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart. With more than 33 million participants*, action sports is undeniably the fastest growing group of sports in the country. Hydration is extremely important to a rider's endurance, and Gatorade wanted more action sports athletes to understand how their product can help them stay on point. A lot of BMX riders are using Gatorade to stay hydrated, so they can ride longer, and tapping into this interest is a very authentic move for us.

wow guess i have been living under a rock never realised they had ever any involvement with MX! Though with Monster, Redbull and Rockstar taking over the sport right now, I would think they would like to make their presence felt
