I'm completely over the same users arguing in circles and breaking basic guidelines on how to treat each other. It's like dealing with children, so the toy is being taken away.

I know it will take about a day or so for this to catch up to some of you, but I'm not going to give much leeway. First strike from here on out is a multi-week suspension; second strike (once back in from strike one) will be a minimum two-month suspension, and strike three will be a permanent ban.

Will we lift this in the future? I don't know, but I don't expect to for at least the remainder of 2026.

But I saw that not even the love of moto  helps .  And I know I'm not innocent of saying some dumb stuff myself. 

I've been avoiding political stuff everyplace except for here, so it will be healthy for me to totally ignore the BS for a while and focus more of trying to be helpful with my posts.  Sorry for any part my posts have played in this ban ML  . I can not imagine the headache it is at times to try and keep this place going. Thank You for all that You do!

Why should that be anymore of a reason in "nonmoto" to agree on anything than gathering up all blue car owners and expecting them to agree on anything other than a car color? The whole point of nonmoto is other subjects than moto. Sometimes we do talk moto as it's a shit show over moto side. Here you only have to tolerate about half a dozen agitators  vs over there, it's 10 fold. My suspicion is, ML is overwhelmed right now and this one change will allow him to focus all his attention on "moto" right now. Due to family health issues I've stayed out of the political topics for quite a few months. But if you look at the list of topics discussed, we've actually been very light on the political ones recently. Which is why the timing is odd. Unless ML expects an explosion of politics with upcoming elections.

I've said this before, I never  came into any political threads to find people  I agreed with. I came to try and understand how and why people believed what they do. Both that I agreed with and disagreed with.  I've always loved learning and most pushback I have given in my posts are   because I'm trying to understand  how it impacts or doesn't impact  how somebody thinks of the subject.  How it did or did not factor  info into how they came to the political position they have.   

As far as why I thought the love of moto would impact the conversations at all.  

One of the amazing things I have noticed throughout the years is that people that would never  talk to each other if not for the common  love of riding have grown into lifelong friends.  In the group I rode with we had a Dr.  truck driver's, a commercial airlines pilot, a drummer for Godsmack , some landscapers , kids in school , a pharmacist ,  General contractors and other construction trades, car sales men and mechanics, bankers.  A very diverse group.      With as much as 40 years  between the youngest and oldest.  And I thought that people in here would be more open to a true honest dialog, knowing we all shared the love of the same sport and the good will that may provide in actually having a real back and forth  instead of a argument that ended in insults and personal attacks. And to a degree it did , but not to the level I had expected. I just had not really thought about how trolls would impact the conversations. 

Hoping that instead of people just jumping to a conclusion , I had hoped people would have it in the backs of their minds that we all share the love for moto so that other person can not be  all that bad. In the real world its hard to find random people that have a bond like the one that exists with motocross people. And I thought that if anyplace, a motocross message board would provide the best shot at conversations that did not have a lot of preexisting negative assumptions. 

 

 Its why I never talk politics  anyplace else. Only with my mother and father, and they are both dead so they don't often have a lot to say these days. I was genuinely curious to see  how people with different beliefs about politics  got to  believing them and really get into the thought process. Not just write everybody off into what I think they are like or what others say people are like.   Just trying to get as complete of a picture as possible.  I've noticed throughout the years that most people I talk with agree on the big stuff. And it just breaks down when You dig in and offer an opinion on how we got there or how to fix or not fix something.  So I figured it would give the best shot at getting to talk about politics without it turning into a TV sound bite back and forth. I like to learn, and one thing learning requires is new information . Different opinions and ways of looking at information. I've always said You can always learn something from everybody if You are open to seeing it.
