Lots of teams running into that problem. No one wants to work 6-7 days a week for 40k

I'd say that (if the info in an above post is anywhere close to being accurate), $40k for 7-day workweeks is far from "decent money".

Deegan is rumored to be capping his bonuses next year to the new mechanic at 25k.
Kids used to work for free (some still do on smaller teams) but that isnt the norm these days and they are finding them harder to come by.
Agree with you. I was meaning there are a few that make "decent" money.. aka not 40k but its not great.
Bonuses with a flat percentage can get messy. Watts had that with RC and his camp didn't like giving that much money out.
I believe randy lawrence said that MC gave him no bonuses at all.

Instead of Star/Yamaha paying the mechanics a decent wage...they put it on the riders to tip well.

Thanks, ML. Surprised/Not surprised at Sexton & Barcia. I know it sounds strange to say, but I think Mookie coming onboard will have a real positive effect on Chase overall. MS27's history of being (at least openly) a "just ride the bike" kind of guy might bleed over.
And, I think Barcia's move to Twisted Tea Suzuki is a good one because of the stability of the bike and the team structure overall.
