I'm not going to try to imply that this race shows that HD would have won today if it was dry, but calling it an equalizer is funny because it didn't look equal. It looked like he put it to them hard twice in a row... There were times during the outdoor season where it was rainy and most of the guys talked about not being on the bike throughout the week and just doing conditioning, but Deegan goes out there and runs mud motos and it looks like that paid off big today
He wouldn't have beat a healthy Jett bit hes definitely the 2nd best mx rider in the AMA

Man that’s no kidding, I was surprised even though I know I shouldn’t be. Every other guy out there has been on the gate all summer but Ken hasn’t been and he can still do that!
Why does a 1-3 beat a 2-2 in Motocross but a 2-2 beats a 1-3 in "Super" Motocross?
MX scores overalls off of points scored per moto. A 1-3 is 45 points, a 2-2 is 44 points. 1st is 25pts, 2nd 22, and 3rd is 20.
SMX uses "olympic" scoring. A 1-3 and 2-2 are both 4 points, the tiebreaker is the second moto score so a 2-2 beats a 1-3 for the overall. SMX awards only 25 points to the overall winner.
Don't ask me why they do it differently between disciplines.
