Levi Townley riding MX2 is interesting.

Very curious about him. Two weekends ago he failed to qualify for the main races in the ADAC MX Masters, not sure why. Maybe technical issues or just not fast enough?

Wasn't that because he qualified in the wrong group so got disqualified?

Townley had the 3rd best time in his group. a tenth faster then Leok who went on to win the event. However it turned out it wasnt his group and he got disqualified, wasnt allowed to start in the LCQ iirc.

Well, in ADAC, it seems they definitely stick to the rules.

I remember seeing GP riders being stopped from going to the grid, ( yonks ago)  when they missed the gate to the start grid closure time, by a split second.

Oh yes, i raced there for 8 years, you only turn up late once.

when the PA goes 'Achtung Fahrerlager' you listen, and fairly quickly learn that they dont do 'half past nine, its 'half to to ten'.   Also handy to know when booking restaurants.

I love to see Lucas back, but i dont really get their plan with the injury.

If he is not able to fight for the win or podium this makes no sense at all.

Maybe he’s seeing if he can ride back into some form; if he can, it’ll be Belgium’s best chance of winning MXdN for awhile.

With this type of issue, you cant 'ride yourself back in'.  Its a switch.  You are fine until you arent, when it switches you off.

I hope they find a solution , it needs rest and recouperation IMO , keeping trying every couple of weeks, is going to be a gamble.

Yes but what’s the alternative? Sit back, relax and wait for what? All I’m saying is I can understand why Lucas would be at least trying to ride; not for MXGP results, but for a chance at MXdN.

I'm curious to see if lucas can hang on to finish the full weekend mxgp shedule in Arnhem, if they both (him and sasha) are going to ride the Ironman national next week as this was their original plan to do before the injury's....

I attended the Foxhills MXGP and i had a short talk with Lucas on sunday night, he came just off the scan he had on site and all he could say was it was "not good" but it was strange his knee was blue/swollen and he constantly was trying to stretch/twisting his knee, but in the week after they where only talking of a nerve issue in the lower back what was strange for me that there was no talk about the whole knee/leg issue ?

I just find it strange that he tryed to ride both moto's on sunday at Foxhills as it was clear after moto one he never had to try and give moto 2 a go, same with the week after at Loket he does the saturday shedule starts in front during the qualifying race and just before the end he retires a week later again he's trying to ride his home GP at Lommel and during free practice he decides to retire. I don't know but you would think with the team and staff behind them they would already know in the week after Foxhills what the problem really is and how to take care of it instead of trying week after week to coming to a point of okay now were going to rest and take the time to recover, why did they never try during training in the week instead off this "circus" week after week at the GP's ?

I say this because it was really strange for me to see hem walking around just normal and taking photo's and trolling around before the start of both MX2 moto's at Lommel, i mean if you have to retire on saturday with a injury i would think you don't want to express yourself this way on sunday where fans can see you things like this ?

So for me i would like to see if he can handle this weekends GP and if they're going to do the us national next weekend i think there is more behind this whole injury thing but i guess we have to wait and see....

In the 1980's, Bulgarian privateer Dimitar Rangelov drove all the way to Hawkestone Park from Bulgaria, and had his van break down on the way. Fixed it, drove non-stop, got the ferry, got to the track only just after signing-on closed and the FIM officials refused to let him ride. The riders all protested on his behalf but they wouldn't budge.

Don't know why but that story always stuck in my head. So cruel 😕

I saw that guy ride at a 250 GP in Scotland back in the day, he had quite a spectacular riding style from memory.

When I rode ADAC JR Series in 74-75, you had to send a letter to the Organizing Club requesting an Entry, They then accepted the request and sent the entry form to you, you filled out  and sent it back, then they sent it to you with your riders number for that event and you used black oven paint to apply your numbers to your plates!  One exception was Gaildorf 1973, I showed up with a bike. Asked to signup - who are you? An American Soldier. They made an exception and I got to race😁

He was one of those great privateers back in the day that travelled from race to race on a shoestring, and would occasionally the stars would align and they'd pull a big result out of the bag. I'm pretty sure he won a 250 GP on an RM250?

In the 1980's, Bulgarian privateer Dimitar Rangelov drove all the way to Hawkestone Park from Bulgaria, and had his van break down on the way. Fixed it, drove non-stop, got the ferry, got to the track only just after signing-on closed and the FIM officials refused to let him ride. The riders all protested on his behalf but they wouldn't budge.

Don't know why but that story always stuck in my head. So cruel 😕

That's a great story! How did your results go?

Gaildorf If I recall was around 10th or so. It was my 1st ever race on a CZ in Germany. Gailforf  was so Awesome! For year end 74 and 75 I finished in the North Championship 2nd place behind the Maico rider for Kramer Maico and in the South Championship I was 2nd behind the rider who raced Hans Maisch's year old works bike and overall 3rd for the Overall. They rode open and 250 and  only rode 250 as that is the only bike I had. I had a local German CZ dealer who helped me. I earned my International Points, however at the EndLauf I destroyed my Schlüsselbein!!
