#neverchangeAMA
So much for it being black and white. Idiots
AMA determining penalties
So are the points differences based on occurrences or what?

What did Mumford do to get penalized 6 license points? That's worse than any of Friese's penalties in SX.
Can't believe they didn't penalize Hunter for going off the track...
I don’t blame any rider for riding outside the markers. Rut fest crash out @ high speed in the middle of nowhere. What is it a 90 min helicopter ride to the nearest bandaid clinic probably forget about a trauma center.
Can you ask (or maybe you know and can explain) why one race they do license points and others they take actual position and points? Also seems like same infraction resulted in different #of license points, can they explain the reasoning?
The AMA are currently blowing the Deegans because they're desperate for the 'patriots' to finally represent the US at the Nations. Someone will need to open their wallets though. Donger and Lips are only patriotric when the price is right...
Section 11 was a very popular spot.
I wonder what the excuse to not go will be this year
That's pretty serious, only 8000 more license points and some people are going to start losing their gate position
@ML512 was there any mention or explanation as to why the AMA suddenly pivoted to meaningless licence points docking instead of position docking for the same offences?
Where is section 11?
I did see one spot where guys were jumping to the right of a track marker over a tabletop
Unbelievable!
The AMA is out of control.
I'd guess it's the uphill section just before they drop down into Screw-U. Seems a lot of guys favored the inside line there...some just a bit more inside than others.
I see people are now curious about the same thing I’ve been asking for the last 24 hours but was only getting downvotes instead of discussion.
Jesson Turner’s penalty was briefly announced before the start of 250 Moto 2 and I couldn’t find any other details about it. So strange that they switched the penalty from a position for each infraction to these dumb ass license points at round 9 of 11. I’m good with either penalty but appreciate consistency. I thought they were going by the letter of the rulebook now?
Apparently nobody gained an advantage...
Pit Row
Thanks for the reference point. Seems weird that all these professional riders who are experts in choosing good lines all chose lines outside of the course markers that gained them no advantage. Weird.
The way this rule is written should mean that anytime a rider gets off course, even slightly, and made the course longer they would receive license penalty points. This happens frequently every single race. I wonder why they picked this race to start penalizing riders?
Jett continuously gets penalties that effects his championships. Had Hunter not gone down, that 2 points at Wash was massive. Jett would of had to win 4/6 motos and finish 2nd twice. (That is for a tie)
He is used as an example I feel to everyone else.
I was surprised Hymas and Deegan didn't get docked. I am glad for the common sense of Hymas. The measurement of his roost returning onto the track was huge. But it was because he was going up a hilll.
Deegan, I got no idea. He is hitting these lines because he isnt strong enough to ride the main lines. (yes 450 requires different strength and its coming). However, that is fact. He needs these smooth secret lines and he is getting away with it.
This. We need some sort of explanation. Track cutting without gaining an advantage doesn’t make sense. If you go around a breaking bump while off the track that seems like an advantage, hypothetically.
Wow they really could not be any more inconsistent with their rulings
lol I can’t believe Mike P had the guts to go on the broadcast and explain the rule in regards to Jett getting penalized yet he can’t even consistently apply it every time it happens…
I’m sure the next broadcast will have a segment explaining it, especially since so many riders were affected…
What’s a license point?
A meaningless penalty, get enough and they might take your fast lap away during qualifying
Sounds like a track problem not a rider problem given all the section 11 penalties. If theyre gonna be stupid about it, better line the track with concrete blocks.
That track looked like shit. They didn't get the memo that it doesn't need to be a slotcar track. It gets so blown out these guys search for smoother lines that require less effort, even if it's not the fastest.
I was packed up for a retro gear & 2st race when I got hurt . I was going to chase points in the 125 class. Use a hump or the side of the track to jump & turn the bike & land on the down hill. Taking the corner off, Jimmy button did that in practice on a yz125, it was sick. And you loose points, I,d be pissed. Of 25 bikes to get 11th & 10 points is Tough. And take 5 points away , ride on the edge for nothing.
Someone ask AMA about the definition of a woman.
Fuck a duck.
