Do you think this will ever hit the table with LuLu, Jr over there at Youthstream? It might be do-able in the next 5 years.
Room for 1 moto on an already 3 moto day?
It's always a question of what you can realistically fit into a weekend motocross event.
I dont think it will be long before someone other than a random idiot on a web forum suggests this.
it would't work with the current format, you would have to run a seperate womans race, as the mix with top males would be dangerous with the closing speeds,
its bad enough in the qualifiers now with some of the male riders from smaller nations,
(the top 5 ish would be ok, but the fall off in USA and MXGP WMX is massive)
I mean unless they start building tracks in the kitchen I don’t see the point
I could see a change dropping the open class for Womens so it's Mx1, mx2 and wmx.
But there would need to be a stronger pool of candidates to justify. The top5 are barely close to the top 40 at a national.
I would say add it as a secondary event alongside the B race but we kind of already get that at nationals and in other events so it wouldn't add much

Trying to find a way for the US to win again?
Please no, beyond dumb.
I'd rather like a 125-class. Just like the old days: 125cc, 250cc (MX2 nowadays) and 450/500cc (MXGP nowadays). Open is pretty useless the past years, as it's just a second MXGP-class.
I think you’d get maybe 30% participation in that class and for that reason it wouldn’t work as a points scoring event.
And that's probably why Youthstream will do it.
Some of you quick-draw reply guys have made a habit of missing the point.
I've had this thought as well. I think it could make for some really interesting racing/points scenarios.
But I also agree with some of the other comments here... the format would need to change in someway simply for safety reasons.
And the depth, at the moment, may not be there yet. Maybe I'm wrong though. And maybe that doesn't really matter either.
I could almost see something like a 85, 125 and WMX MXoN that runs alongside the traditional event. Same format, but it's basically a Pro/Am. I suppose similar to the current Junior World Championships, but add in the WMX.
