Did Deegan accelerate while off the track at the beginning of moto one

Jett was penalised pretty quickly. If Deegan was penalised I think we would know by now.

Both he and Hymas did in the first moto and when it comes to AMA inconsistency is the only consistency.

If Jett was penalized for far less of an acceleration off the track while in a tight points contention, deegan for sure needs to be penalized for that excursion. More inconsistency from Mike that just doesn’t make sense. Either you accelerated off of the track, and you are penalized, or you didn’t and therefore aren’t penalized

If the AMA doesn't penalize here, they will only further erode their credibility. Let's go, Mike.

As much as I don't want him penalized. I do think they should. It was   similar to Jett's offtrack instance. If Deegan let off so he could get back on track Jett would have passed him. Same as Jett when he got the penalty.   

I don't like seeing calls like that impact the results when its been something allowed just a season ago. Both Jett and Haiden's  off track moments meet the old standard of getting back on the track safely as quickly as possible.  Deegan's off track excursion wasn't as far off track. But he for sure was on the gas as hard or harder than if he was on the track. To prevent Jett from passing, just like Jett did.  If I'm using the same standards, Deegan gets a penalty.  

And if not I think some sort of explanation of what was done differently by Deegan that made it OK. Because as a viewer if the rule is as simple as accelerating  while off the track, I would say it meets that standard.

I have been coming to Unadilla since 1979 and I can't remember that hill ever taking out that many people on a single race day and saw quite a few riders unintentionally go inside the markers going up that hill.

I instantly thought "oh, there's a position", he was WFO for nearly a whole straight on the water truck lane. There were a few times I saw others skirt a few markers going into corners where it made me raise an eyebrow, but that was egregious.

Not fair.

Should jett get positions taken away for going outside The track a whole moto aswell then?

I thought the EXACT same thing as soon as I saw it.  He went all the way up the hill OUTSIDE 5 white track markers.  As we always hear, “rules are rules”.  We will see if anything happens?

He continued on that "line choice" up to the crest too.  I'm surprised the commentators didn't mention it, it was blatantly obvious and the AMA was very quick to penalize Jett and bring in the official to clarify/justify it, yet here we are, and crickets... 

Unfortunately I’m no longer surprised.
