Eric, you are absolutely right, Loretta’s has not been a positive thing for local moto. Arenacross was always a fun winter avenue, but Spring and Summer were always moto time.

We love Lincoln Trail, have driven 5 hrs each way for years just for the facility and competition. We have run the Thor Series for years. Always big gates! They always have a great prep, great dirt, and great people running and racing it. I think people are not taking this how I meant, the local racing is not the...

It’s not the local track guys that are the problem, $50 to practice is a deal, we had a track at our house for years, $50 wouldn’t touch the fuel used every prep, much less the wear and tear on the equipment, Bike prices and the ever rising Mx Sports fees are the killer, local racing isn’t even out of...

Look we all know it’s not the sport for everyone, and I’m the first to say there should never be “participation trophies “. You lose, you get faster if you want to win.

My kid is now 22 and starting a career as an Airplane mechanic (A&P). He is an AMA B rider, but so many kids dream of just getting to Loretta’s!! And yes C, it is a sandbagger’s class except for the occasional phenomenal talent. We have always focused on the great friends we have met over the years. The competitive...

Everything taken into consideration, I’m beginning to worry that Amateur Motocross is simply getting too expensive for any and everyone to have a legitimate chance. Motocross is a great sport and has forged many friendships, memories, and a relationship between my son and I that few will ever have outside of this sport. New bikes are 8k to 13k, which...

Bundy is great (Bundy Built), I believe Adams Performance in NC built a head that was really fast and flowed incredibly well. Tokyo Mods builds a mean full race 150 motor also, Justin is great . The camshaft was Ron Hamp’s grind but came from Web cams, I’m sure you can call them and get it, after many titanium retainer...

21 yo B rider now, photo is at Lincoln Trail in Casey Illinois, got to love a keyboard warrior that hasn’t a clue who he is or how fast.

From a dad who spent a fortune on 150’s. The power is in the head, camshaft, and a programmed Vortex. The late Ron Hamp did our race heads and actually taught me the epoxy process that made the heads really make power, but all that being said, it still can’t be competitive against a new 2 stroke Ktm based supermini...

My only advice is make sure you have good health insurance, it’s not if but when and how bad. Dirt bikes are cool, fun, and a great outlet, my kid has raced since he was 6, now 21. Great people, great sport, but unfortunately it comes with injuries.

Lincoln Trail is an awesome facility ran by awesome people, multiple tracks. Open a lot of the time for practice and is the home of the Largest series in the AMA. We live in Mississippi and travel there multiple times a year to race, big gates and fast riders

Just to chime in, some tracks cater to 125’s. 150’s, and 250f’s, smaller and or tighter tracks are definitely easier to ride on these bikes, Big long deep horsepower tracks suit the 450’s much better. Very few Pro AX racers ride 450’s because of the difficulty harnessing the explosive hit of a 450, I will say in my opinion a...
