Straight up, Towelie is a real loser for even posting something like that. Dude, show some respect for real. I see your side but totally feel it was uncalled for. There is a time and a place to say shit like that, not when someones "mom" is writing about her son. Your the kinda person that ruins real riders and their families from coming on here and posting. Grow up!!

Or maybe someones a lil upset cause he's the one sitting there with a pain pill addiction wishing he made something of his "racing" career..

Wish i controlled the "Banned Button"..

We should all just stop talking about Pro riders. Completely. Zero. Nada. Never ever mention a name again. Like Villipoto says "to me its like talking about football or basketball. I don't even know how many points you score in a touchdown. I have no idea what is going on in those kinds of sports. So, it would be like me going on a message board about football or baseball and saying "this guy needs to do this! That guy sucks!" All theses people behind the computer screens think they know what they are talking about, BUT THEY DON'T!"

Keep the threads to what is truly Vital to the sport of MX..........our own racing, our bikes, our set ups, our training, and our results.

Ok maybe we could talk about and post pics of pro bikes and pro tracks and leave the actual racers completely out of the conversation.

There are Haters every where you go, we all know one, at work, school, all over...its there problem....its a projection of how they feel about themselves and they jump on any chance to kick soemone when there down, someone who has worked hard to be successful, becasue they are jealous.

As for Towlie, take his avatar at face value...

I have no doubt that it would be very difficult to read negative things posted about your child on the internet. Closest I have come to that has been a few negative posts concerning high school basketball, and I didn't really like it.

And while I think Towelle is a bit out of line with the veiled accusations, it does bring up some good points about the "other sides" of the coin.

How many here who would be upset about a rider being talked badly about would apply that same criteria to other athletes and/or celebrities? Cox's numerous threads calling Jay Cutler an idiot is a good example, but what about the threads in non-moto (from the past) about celebs like Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, etc.

I think at a certain point as a parent you'd just have to realize that people are commening more on the "personna" they see rather than the real person you know. That's the only way to remain sane about it I would think.

There are lots of folks who still will defend the actions of a guy like Jason Lawrence, for example, because they know him in a different light than those who simply read about his mishaps. That doesn't make either of them completely wrong in their thoughts, but it's often times best not to try to attempt to reconcile the two different viewpoints. Just move on and don't place too much weight on the other persepctive.

Mrs. Goerke, you can not win. Walk, no, run away from this site. You are out of your league, trying to argue with some of this trash on here. Do not lower yourself to the depths of these dumb asses.

Good luck to Matt, and your family.Smile Smile Smile

It has been mentioned numerous times on this site how it would be nice if more racers and their families were members so you can get true and accurate information about what goes on behind the scenes. I feel that I can honestly speak for the majority of the families and riders when I state that some of the comments made about us are hateful enough to chase us away.
San Diego was my son, Matt’s, first race back after an ankle injury. Obviously, it was not a good night for him after he crashed out of a qualifying position. I chose not to look at this particular site because I already knew that some people would make callous comments, and as a mother, it hurts. My husband did however look because he likes to hear some of the actual stats on the race. Gary told me just a few of the mean comments on not just my son, but also on other riders.
The individuals, who feel the need to try and incite hateful, prejudicial, and bigoted comments about where a racer was born and/or live, are proof of their own uneducated moral aptitude.
Riders and their families have dedicated their lives to this sport. The fact that so many spectators love to watch these riders compete and admire acquired skills that each rider has mastered in their own way is truly entertaining. Perhaps, those who stay at home and write negative lies about the riders should invest their time in a more productive way.
Cyndi Goerke
Cyndi, I "feel" your pain. I, too, have gotten on this board in order to clarify issues that have been grossly out context and to pass on information that can be verified as truth. My actions are not intended to be seen as "defending" my son...but, it seems that others know more than we do about what goes on in our "house". It truly amazes me that we have sacrificed for our kids to live the dream (by the way - mine graduated high school early with a 3.95 GPA), and this is what we get in return. Name calling and arm chair play-by-play on things they "think" they have seen and the surety that they post with on information referencing exactly what happens when they are riding on the "backs" of our kids. So often, these things are way off base. I too, tried to mention that name calling and wishes of harm are hurtful when our kids are out there putting it all on the line for entertainment. Oh well...guess it is what it is! I do know this...I have known your son for years and he was a good kid that has grown into a fine young man. I know too that my son has done the same...I am beginning to believe those who have written on your post...it is all about the DRAMA...so sad, cause in our house there is none!

I hope this thread changes this board forever. Say nothing about the pro's unless you have something good to say. And since most do not, don't talk about them.

Not at all...you are entitled to your opinion just as we are. Like it or hate it, the situation gets way out of hand when someone professes to know everything and starts stating opinion as fact. You're entitled to your opinion, just thought that sometimes people would want the facts before placing blame, judgement, etc. So go forth and say whatever makes you feel better. I am not expecting nice things to be said, otherwise, I would not have tried to clarify issues when warranted. It's all good here...no drama in this house. :o)

What's your thoughts on the chicken shit move Hansen pulled on Kyle last night?

Was that some sort of payback for something that happened in the past?

What is it that you want me to say? Do you want me to "throw" someone under the bus? I can assure you that there was no prior altercation between the two, KC did not touch him with a tire, and KC rode the same way over that jump each and every time that he came through to that section. This type of riding did not change and as it is his riding style, it should not have to. No other riders were "bashed" for riding and scrubbing the same way throughout the night. I have perused these posts throughout the night and witnessed KC being called all kinds of names. After the Roczen incident, someone actually wanted to break both legs -- as a parent, this is hurtful and unnecessary -- these board are for entertainment and informational purposes only. My proudest moment with Roczen, my son apologized for unintentionally causing the incident though you and I both know that had it worked, KC would have been the man of the moment (unless you are a Roczen fan). What I think some do not realize is that KC and those like him are in this for the love of the sport and for the fact that they have a talent to share with others who enjoy SX/MX. As a parent, I could write forever about what a great guy my son is, but I now realize I would not ever be able to "convince" those who wish to see only the negative. Just so you know, this is not an attempt to "defend" Kyle, just a moment to make a comment. Kyle and Josh know the truth...I have to believe that things will work out in the end, otherwise, I will go CRAZY -- many mean and disrespectful people on this board. Such a shame. :o(

wdingit, you can't win.
All you are going to do is set yourself up as a target, along with KC, because there are far too many here who get their jollies not just attacking riders and industry people, but more so when they can do it personally, from the safety of their keyboard.
They pretend to know everything, but don't.
They pretend to know how the industry works, but don't.

But they feel most empowered when they can tell some rider who wanders in here to "you suck" or some manager who comes to talk about his rider "your teams sucks" and then say to parents like you "your kid is ignorant," because then they can go back to their buddies, giggling like a schoolgirl, and say "I told Jo Bob Smith he's a douche" and that makes him feel like a big man.
But what they don't tell any one is they're the first in line for an autograph of that rider or begging for a jersey or goggles.

You can't win, so don't try, and more you try, the worse it will get

Seriously guys why do you feel the need to talk about other people? Vote with your posts/threads. Stop talking about all pro's. What good comes from it? Nothing. Waste of time, thought and effort that can go towards your own racing efforts. If you don't race anymore than find another hobby. Is it that hard to understand?

Lee Ann, I want you to know that the comment about your son was what enflamed me the most. Your whole family has always been super and sometimes issues happen on the track with all riders. The riders always seem to work it out. If nothing else is accomplished on our posts, maybe the "negative" people will realize that evry rider has a family or friend that relays insults back to them.
I do thank all of you that have reminded me on this post that I may be taking this to heart too much. You are right.

Just out of curiosity, how will a riders parents feel when their kid fails & ends up a pain killer addict that cant hold a job & has no social skills cause he was home schooled & without MX cannot hold himself above water? I mean, there is a flip side to this
I know quite a few of those kids, from moto and snocross.
They are all fine and a lot make most money then most.

Why you had to post that in this thread is beyond me.
A mother was defending her son and you try to bash this thread with something like this that had nothing to do with what was going on.
Another topic would of been just fine and more appropriate.

Slightly O/T .... but who was the Yami guy that just blitzed the left side of the whoops just behind Goerke's crash? The announcers got focused on the crash and didn't mention who it was.

To any parents on here ... it's the internet. What can you do? The majority of folks are cool. Just ignore the few that chose to be jerks.

Goerke is a bad ass period. So talented. Had a bad go at it last night but jesus was his first race back on a new to him bike. He will be there for sure. Momma Goerke dont even listen to these fools no one can even talk about their kids because there is nothing special about them. Your son is one of the best in the world at what he does. And hes a good person. Thats what is so important. He called me out the blue a few weeks ago to help me out on something and play some reflex and we have met a few times hes so humble.Go Matt

Cyndi and Lee Ann: There's not much more I can say on this subject that hasn't already been said by some of the more mature members here but I will tell you that there is a VERY low tolerance for the kind of trash talk and name calling a few folks here like to spew towards other members, industry people and especially riders and their families. Unfortunately the mods here can't possibly read every post and things get missed.

Certain individuals with a reputation are watched a little closer and they are dealt with if they get out of hand, just as one poster on this thread was. He's earned a vacation and he got it.
