There has been a lot of new dirt bike brands coming out from China lately. This is one the most interesting ones. CR500 clone engine fitted to a frame which resembles a last generation RM250. The bike is called "Rocs 500"

Interesting.

Almost as silly as how Honda Australia ADR'd the CRE500 in 2002 - to have a plated 500 2 stroke - well, really, an Open Classer while they awaited the CRF450X to come.

I was silly enough to buy one, new ( at a very good price - not the $$$ they first came out at ), and will keep it Forever.

I first thought that section of case between / slightly lower than  the Ignition cover and CS sprocket, must be a counterbalancer. Could still be, but looking at the Instagram post put up by JMX82 ( thanks for the post and pictures! ) I can see a red wire going over to 'something' under the cases, and, another pic that shows a bit more from LH front, so I guess it's an E Start? With the right gearing, a  Modern, Little /Stubby ES motor could easily do the job of getting it started. Especially with that, what I assume is, 'Pop Off Decomp' set up that's  RH forward on the head.

Though, that spec board makes no mention of it, that I can see, so....... ?

Twin Spark Plugs? - Good idea,  though, the 'ad on' one is in a very strange place - pretty much where I put my Auto Decomp set up.

Steel frame, that the cradle of, looks rather 'weedy', unless they are using High Quality Metal.

I'm that useless / disinterested in things, that I don't know how to save the HTML pics from Instagram, but,  perhaps you, JMX82 can put them up, for old Analogue Engineers like I to be able to save to a folder?

I wonder if it  becomes a reality?

I'm not a potential customer, I'm more than happy with my old Teddy Bear of a bike, with all it's mods to suit me, but, there may be some that would purchase one.

Thanks for that, JMX82 !

I'm too bloody lazy to remember the IG 'thing' my GF set up for me, and to take a few minutes to re-learn how to make images JPegs.

As I said - Interesting.

Shows that a company may have done 'the sums', and thinks they can make a bit of money from a semi modern 500.

Good luck to them.

But, I do hope they make better lower motor mounts than what I see there - long and thin, seemingly un gusseted / un strapped - even if it were high quality 4130 or other high quality material, and it's got a balancer, I'd give those but a short time until failure.

Are you one of those BIG Blokes in the pictures - BIG Finnish Monsters (?), they / you look like!

And one Asian fellow, looks a bit perturbed by one of you.

I've said in another post...it's astonishing how much money and resources go into designing (whether these are copies of cr5 engine, suzuki...), developing, and manufacturing many models, and launching them onto the market without knowing how many units will be sold, what their actual market share will be, or if all that initial investment will be recouped... I imagine not, but maybe it doesn't matter...

Interesting how they search in every niche to break into the market.

I don't who these people in the pictures are nor where the pctures are taken from.

I'm only 5'9" tall and more of an 125 rider than open class guy 😅

Well, Japan doesn't seem really interested in making these 2t bikes any longer. Yamaha yes, Kawi (barely), the rest...nope. So, somebnody else will fill the niche. Good on China.

No way that thing doesn't vibrate itself into a million pieces.

It's a Bummer that I can't find any pictures of the underside of the engine, to properly see (what I think is) the ES Start set up. ☹️

At first I was thinking that the E Start might just be mounted to the Ignition cover, much like other E kits, but, down below, hanging inside of the ' Truncated map of Florida ' piece., Thus needing the main cradles to be narrower , and, much lower.

But, looking at the cases , the Clutch actuating shaft 'bulge' is Higher than a CR500s, that rearward Cover mount bolt is around the 3.15 mark, as against the std one being around the 4.30 mark ( I'll have those number estimations wrong ) , AND, there is an extra upper bulge the the top of the LH main case, as well as an extra case bolt., that is pretty much directly above a std CR500 Case saver / case bolt.

There's **** electrical wires **** exiting the left top rear of the Ignition cover, while, curiously, there's still the Big Electrical Wiring cut out in the LH main case front section that a std CR has.

So, at  least the LH side main case is Considerably different to a CR500.

Interesting stuff.

I Noticed on the 'bars the Twin Cable set up, then searched for pics of the carb - hard to get a good view of it. The best view of it to blow up I found was the pic with the Lady holding the umbrella.

Also, the Carb itself looks quite different to what I know of. **** they make a bit of a thing about their induction and electrical  tech expertise on that Spec Board, so, perhaps that electrical wiring bundle going Back towards the carb, goes to it , And Other 'Things'?

I don't recognize it as a 'normal' carb, but, I could have missed out on things - I tried a Smart Carb, that was a Bloody Expensive  Disaster, so went back to a venerable,  38mm PWK Long Body Airstriker

If the price is nice… and I had a dealer nearby… I could see getting that.

Will people seriously be willing to risk their limbs or more and buy this thing? The mxgp stickers are funny in a disturbing way

Looks like they took a last generation 2 stroke RM and used the airbox and gas tank , then made shrouds and side plates to look like the current RMZ , that fit and flowed with the tank and airbox.  At that point I don't know why they wouldn't just make their own designs that could flow better with the rest of the bikes lines. Especially the side plate air box junction.

Are there industry standard methods of testing motorcycle frames? Because I'd want to have that sucker put through the ringers before thinking about a ride.

The frame as pictured looks wimpy wimpy wimpy for anything more than a 125cc four stroke play bike.

There isn't a single part of the rolling chassis I want.

But if you'll sell me that motor for say 2000usd, ill.buy one to dissect and see if it's worth putting in something that isn't junk.  Or maybe just make a hot-saw.

Not really

I can see in one picture - RH rear from above -that the axle block looks to have at least 30/ 35 /mm of unused 'slot', and the rear tyre is quite close to the shock guard, but even then the bike doesn't look short.

The pic with the Asian bloke in the Red T shirt is a bit 'fishbowl -ish ' though. Perhaps that's what you're jugging it by?

It does have low cradle, far lower than a CR, but that appears to be due to the ES. She'd be a real 'belly scraper' in my terrain.

Forks are sitting low in a few pics - about the sag you'd want When You Were On It, not unladen.

Meh, it's a ' show and tell bike ' - could be quite different if it is actually ever sold.
