“I wanted to ask you about something, like mate I’ve gone through this before. When I’m doing jiu jitsu, it’s literally the same feeling as winning a Supercross championship, like bro can you even imagine Haiden Deegan doing jiu jitsu? Literally such a savage. Can you just like, take a moment to talk about how impressive you think everything that Haiden is doing is and tell me why he’s literally the best thing for the sport? And privateers mate, they need to go away if we want to be like F1. Just like, talk about that for a second.”

This is so accurate of today's situation that's it's funny.  Or not funny,  not sure

I find myself tapping my arrow key forward through the video like I'm sending a telegraph just to get to the point where the guest talks, but I do enjoy some of his stuff.

Classic journalism is good for getting news and stories but less personality. I think Jase's talkative & slightly profane style sets a more freewheeling vibe that the guests enjoy and feed off of. I heard more from Tomac in the GT episode than I'd heard from him in his entire career.

Ironically the thing that made me first respect him was his press conference questions. There've been a few post races where he was clearly the most articulate and researched journalist in the room.

He's not a journalist. He's not even a 'journalist'. He's a hairy twit.

He went to a ufc press conference asking his long winded questions and the fighters would give him weird facial expressions.

To be fair,  he did say why he does the clickbait title thing, annnd some of his interviews have been decent.  Zacho's was pretty good.

Somehow he gets strong guests others don't.  I am not sure why, but I think he is just average.  He is getting better and if he would stop comparing building his business and his own amatuer martial arts to pro athletes it would be even better.

Side note, he is announcing WSX this year so that should be interesting.

First this thread is from 2022… also start your own podcast and ask questions you want instead of constantly complaining about the same nonsense over and over like a bunch of 13yo girls. It’s not a traditional interview it’s as he has said multiple times “it’s two dudes just having a conversation…” if it’s not for you don’t listen … it’s not like you aren’t accessing a form of entertainment about our hobby for free or anything.

I googled twit. I think that word fits someone who pays google gemini to generate AI images just for Vital perfectly.

You're the definition of a literal freak by the way.

First I have heard this. Hard to imagine him being good at explaining his thought quickly

Quite a few Vitards believe Gypsy is a journalist?

Good on you mate.

If you think there is anything redeemable about Gypsy's moronic amateurish questioning that's up to you.

His Shimoda / Suzuka tour was great. Do more of those GT.

Bourdain esque, as much as one could for the subject/talent in production.

Do this, venture into enduro with an abundance of interesting international characters, you’ll be a well rounded hit in the 2 wheel dirt space.

I’m still trying to figure out who Ahmed Ahjifet is.  Is it his producer that he’s mentioning in his outro?

You answered yourself at your opening line; "I don’t listen to Gypsy Tales often"

He's not for you and that's ok - different audience to Keefer / Pulp

I’m not a Gypsy fan, but there’s no denying that for whatever reason, his guests seem to let their guard down more in his interviews than most others, which results in some great content, and often with info I’ve never heard anywhere else.

I swear. People around me swear. But we all know there’s a time and a place for it.

I like to listen to podcasts on my speaker whilst in the shop and sometimes in the kitchen whilst cooking or cleaning and there’s very likely other people around- customers or family.

And that’s when you notice the needless swearing.
And it’s uncomfortable.
Once or twice occasionally nobody around me would bat an eyelid.
But the constant “fuck bro, fuck” becomes uncomfortable.

I don’t listen to him because of it.

I cursed like a sailor at times at work before retirement but hate it when I am sitting in a restaurant or some other public place with my wife and family and the table next to us is F bombing non-stop LOUDLY. Or when people drop F bombs at their kids. Time and place man, I don't think on a pod cast is great either. Keefer's "summer school" podcast was bad with F bombs until someone got the message. Grandpa always said an ignorant man expresses himself with curses...

Honest feedback: It's obvious that some of the time, he does the interview, then re-films his parts, with more expressive reaction/responses, maybe throws in a few more "Bro"s.  It would be better for me, and more natural, if he just went with it.  It would be great to see the difference.  Maybe it's better with the re-film, but it's obvious that it's happening.

Btw: Overall, I like the shows, and they keep getting better.

He's truly a fan.
