That was kind of an "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth" qualifying race between Herlings and De Wolf
Tough day indeed. The kid has grit. Broke his collar bone at Southwick, gets up and still wins the race. That is fu'king Insane.
I've broken two collar bones and barely could walk properly.
Why did Calvin even try ride free practice? He should be at home recovering.

I think he’s said he was on KTMs for 17 years lol
Yeah. As i recall from 2009 EMX2 in Holice there was certain 14yo dutch kid hauling ass on an orange. At that time Coenens were 2 yo.
Pretty boring races today to be honest. Differences were big, between almost all the riders. Only Skovbjerg and McLellan put in some attractive performances.
But honestly, also nice to see guys like Herlings and De Wolf dancing around, while others are struggling so damn' hard.

Looks like the jury is still out on Seewer's move away from Ducati
Its why its better to go, because you can get to see all the riders do all of the track, and see just how much better the good guys are.
I don’t think so, he rode way better at Foxhills & Locket on the KTM than he did all year on the Ducati.
Short of Jeffrey getting hurt, this series is over. 3rd place was nearly 45 sec back with a lap to go in a qualifying race…
The good thing about looking up Seewer's results, is that you always know he is going to be in them , he was 4th in race 2 in 2023, so he can ride the sand, but i think he is just trying to get through the weekend on the KTM, i suspect most of his testing has not been at Lommel.

Didn't realise Yoko was still around
Cripes, every time I see an EMX Open race, I'm struck by the GIANTS that so populate it.
It seems at least half the field, are the size - or, Far Bigger - than Benny Bloss.
I always tend to label them as Dutchmen, but, they come from all over Europe.
Blokes that would not have a hope in hell of being able to get a 250 beneath them to drag their immensity around a track - even a Non Sand one.
Mind you there's a few 'normal' humans out there - for a while Lapucci was up in the top 10 ( who I always associate with EMX 250 exploits on the 2T Beta , but I'm probably wrong), but it's the blokes that make full sized bikes look like MR50s that seem to populate the 450 classes in Europe - they grow them Big in Europe.
Big Ken - who's inches smaller than quite a few out there ( but outdoes them in Tonnage), is mired way back in the 30s. but, good on him for being out there, especially are his Big Prang Yesterday.
I love the GPs - especially Lommel : this Flat As A Pancake 'warehouse building lot' circuit ...... that is So Bloody Demanding!
PS : Anyone know about Frenchman, Alexis Fueri, normally on a Beta 2T in EMX250 - not there this weekend - out with injury? Hope it isn't his arm again, he really made of a mess of it last year ( I think).
Crowd's on the appointment! Sun is shining, track is prime (as prime as bottomless sand can get) and the beers are cold. Everything is ready for an exciting afternoon!
The track looked brutal during the EMX Open race.

Pulled through from 6th at the end of lap 1. Strong ride in this company.

McLellen with another shit start. Let's see if he can get to the front without screwing his energy reserves for Moto2.
Looks like it or it’s his newspaper of choice.
They upgraded his suspension this week to the true factory equipment from The WP pro stuff.
His riding here is solid,he in the 3rd tier speed wise, they are still fine tuning the bike to suit him.
I’m betting his speed will improve when they race in Uddevalla…
Lewis talked in the Mxgp cezch podcast about Farres sand skill and i checked that Farres won and podium one of the 3 GPS in emx125 in the COVID era in Lommel.
So he has sand skills but Mclellan has nothing too loose so maybe im with him for the win
