Will Sacha Magoo Coenen be the dominate 250 rider in the 2027 USA season?

As long as he can get through his rookie SX season in one piece, yes.  It's that whole SX learning curve I am fearing for him......  Could be rather steep.

Outdoors, he should win.  Raw speed he's the fastest 250 guy in the world.  SX he should do his best to be ok with getting passed, because you know he's got starts dialed.

Don't go full send if you start in first and end up 3rd, 4th , 5th.

If he comes into MX healthy, he can win, but won't dominate!

A part of winning is staying healthy. Ask Ryan Dungey.

So far, Sacha is injured as is his brother, Lucas, who is for all practical purposes, out of contention for the MXGP title. Being fast is a good thing. Being fast with crashes and injuries is another.

I Don't post ever, always a lurker and a pure fan of moto. My opinion is both brothers should stay outdoors "only", they have the ability to potentially destroy the field for the next 10 years outdoors. Supercross is a maybe they will be great. Outdoor only specialis Wow? They could own a big chuck of history. Just a fan with probably less than two cents of nologe.

Cheers

Chew me out I dont give a F.

If they wanted to do that, both would stay in the gp's.

He’s gonna kick ass indoors & out.

I like DB's idea of having the Coenens ride, NOT race SX most of the winter, to practice their skills, and come out swinging for MX in '27, and do their first SX season in '28.

If KTM is viewing them as a long term investment, giving them time to practice their skills in a discipline they've never done seems like the prudent move, especially considering Sacha's history of crashing.

Riders come to the US because they want to ride and succeed in Supercross. I don't think I have to say more

Some of the other GP MX2 boys would have something to say about Sasha being the fastest in the world.. Just because he came and put 30 seconds into the 250 class doesn’t mean he’s the fastest. Before he came over to Southwick, Farres had beaten him straight up in a number of races and continues to win. Langenfelder, McLellan, Reisulis etc. all flying this year in MX2

He has the speed and fitness to absolutely dominate but we’ll have to wait and see about his ability to stay off the ground in the US.

They have to compete in a supercross season. If it don’t workout they can go home or just race outdoors.

I think they are next brothers.

Why can there not be absolute outdoor guys only. It only grows the sport from grass roots everyone learned first. Two brothers destroying the field might change the mentality for future kids to explore One area and exell.?

Again just a stupid new guy that knows nothing.

Cheers.

No top team signs riders for outdoors only, SX is the main focus in the US (and that's also what the Coenens want to do).

Haarups situation for example is an exception, because he aged out of Mx2 and Triumph doesn't have a 450 MXGP until next year.

In fairness to Lucas, he has gotten much better at keeping it on 2 wheels the last couple of years. The crash at Foxhills was not his fault, and I think his crash at Southwixk was a mechanical issue?

I wonder how long the Coenens will enjoy the US if supercross doesn't turn out to be a succes

As about as long as all the other foreigners berfore them.

Reed may have been the only Champion, but so many became great racers. Only a few returned home.

Agree on that statement. Supercross destroys the tob guys every year. Outdoors only guys could change the way the sport is looked at. Example and I will get hated for saying this but if Mike Alesse only focused his attention to outdoors. Wow the possible outcomes are crazy. Some guys are better outdoors period.
