How come more amateurs or privateers run them. Might sound funny but they have close to if not best contingency? Just wondering saw the 2011's today at a shop look pretty decent

Not approved for AMA pro competition. Not sure it meets the AMA Amateur homologication rules or has been submitted as its not on the approved list.

they do look good and seem like good bikes anymore.

1. They are still unproven
2. Do not handle as well
3. Not very many dealers and way less good dealers
4. Hard to get parts

Husky pays husky bucks or whatever for parts not actual money like the rest of the OEM's do. For sure that helps, but money goes a lot further helping a racer..

Ok i guess thats why then lol.. I'd really like to see them in sx and mx it would add another team or 2 and could more riders rides that deserve them.

I think the 2010 Husqvarna TC 250f is the only model homologated for pro racing here. The new 450 or 449 as they designate it is a complete redesign and uses an updated version of the BMW 450X engine. Looks more like a stripped down dual sport bike than a motocrosser to me.

How long has the homologation rule been in effect? This would be a good rule change to petition for.

I think it came in with class c racing, which was the 1930's, I believe.

It's supposed to level the playing field.

Whew, that's kind of a stiff application. You get the sense that they're are mad at anyone wanting to apply for homol. Anyway,
does that mean 400 units in the US or available to be imported by a distributor? Either way, it needs to be lowered to 200. I'm thinking even 100 maybe.

Simple: They are not competitive enough on their own merits for anyone to choose them over a Japanese bike. They are getting closer, but not there yet.

If Husky wanted to spend some cash and field a couple of guys in SX/MX, it would probably help their case to be taken seriously. But, Husky isn't doing that. That tells you something, either about the viability of AMA MX as a sales tool, or that Husky knows they aren't ready to compete.

its a shame really,
the 2010 TC250 is a good, reliable bike with a weak engine,
the only reason i bought a KTM was because of the weak engine.
But i would love to see a team run them and do well.

So, Pro Circuit is in Corona. Mitch used to be a Husky dealer. Kawisaki effectively shit on Pro Circuit and went FMF. I see only coincidence here......but, damn, it would be cool to see.

There was a Husky at the track today. A local pro rides it.. Seemed like the bike had got power and handled good from what i saw.

While I absolutely admire the design of the 250f engine it is still slower than any other 250f Mitch would definitely have his hands full making it fast but if anyone can do it its Mitch......I would think imo Mitch would go with ktm they are already HP kings of the lines imagine what a pc team could do to the bikes ......people think the pc kawi is a Cheater bike imagine how fast the ktm 250f would be if Mitch got ahold of them .....wow he could probably win the 450 class lol

Im glad im not the only one who thinks it would be a good idea?? So with them coming to corona whats everyone think on time wise till we see a husky team or at least privateers making main events on them?? 2014??

Bikes are trick no doubt, but until you get a big time rider racing and doing well on one, i doubt sales will rival the other factories!
