Going to San Diego Thurs, any recommendations other than the race?

I will be going to San Diego tomorrow to visit my sister and watch the race. I will be in town until Sunday, any recommendations on stuff to do? Whats worth checking out and whats not. Figured we might take a ride up to LA friday. Thanks

Well... the forecast is calling for rain and right now it is drizzling at my house here in the North County..I would suggest checking out downtown San Diego one of the days you are here, and take a drive (or a 6 dollar cab ride) to Little Italy to get a slice of Pizza for lunch or dinner. Hope you have a good time here in the Whales Vagina.

I went to the San Diego Zoo when I went out there for the race a few years ago,It's a cool place.

Bring a rain coat......... lol X2 on Little Italy. If you have a rental car and the rain isn't so bad the Wild Animal Park is cool and Pala Raceway isn't to far away, maybe. 45 minutes.

If the weather was nice, La jolla shores is a nice beach to visit. Rent a kayak and paddle out to the caves. You picked a bad time to come here. Rain for the next week.

Go to K1 Speed in Carlsbad. (indoor go karting!) It kicks ass and the rain won't bother you. It's not supposed to rain on Thursday. And, the rain will clear out on Saturday afternoon.(when we talk about rain here, it's really just spitting)

Take the trolly from the stadium, down to the cruise ship docks there's subs and an aircraft carrier too, and alot of college chicks in town at the bars right by there.

yeah gettin in CAN be a night mare..i suggest going atleast two hours before the race as the is only one entrance into the place and it gets chaotic at qualcomm..Also prepare yourself for the exit..Its one of the worst venues(i have attended anyhow) for trying to get out of the parking lot,,again there is only one in and one out and people really get aggressive in the parking lot after a sx..i tend to relax for 30 mins or more when back to the car and let all the people trying to get a holeshot out go at it for a while..The people that wait for things to get less hectic are so much more passive and better to deal with.If its rainin u may not have quite the crowd tho

Balboa park is worth checking out. So is the USS Midway...very cool to tour the old carrier. Go check out Ocean Beach or Pacific Beach for a cold one and some good people watching. Or walk around Mission Bay.

Don't bother with LA.

As far as the Q, take the trolley. Park in Old Town or off Friars Rd.

Go to North County Yamaha and Escondido Cycle Center just of Nordahl on the 78. Just east of Vista, about 5-10 minutes!

Check out Blacks Nudist beach nr La Jolla, but if the weathes as shitty as it sounds only the hardcore freaks will be out sans clothes.
La Jolla is definately a cool place to shop or people watch.
Sea Life Centre always worth a visit as well as checking out the ships moored up downtown, Navy yards and take the bridge over to Coronado and onto Mission beach.

Yes. It is now called the San Diego Zoo Safari park and is definitely worth checking out. Closer to Vista than the Zoo.

If your in vista and you like good beer, check out the Stone Brewery in Escondido. Also gambling at the Indian casinos is everything Vegas has to offer. Pechenga and Pala are my favorites.

A ride up to LA? I wouldn't do that on a Friday...... Plenty to do in SD.
