It's like a High School football stadium. Don't get upper level. You wanter lower level. The seats are way more comfortable. Don't matter which side.

I believe the stadium runs length wise north to south...you would want the west side seats, to stay out of the mid day sun, if you plan on going in early to watch practice.

I had the East side seats one year, and baked !
But one year (2003) I froze...it's the desert.

I'm bringing my camera and not sure which side would be the best to take pictures from. I will post some pictures if I get any good one.

The sun sets on the left side of that image.

Industry seating is on the upper left.

In practice, I mostly shoot on the right side, since it offers more backlighting. The other side will give you some pretty flat light.

According to Yahoo's TV guide there isn't going to be live coverage this year. I guess they heard your complaints and listened? Unsure

For transportation this year, pulled off another site from LiveNation:

----------

In case anyone is interested...

Book your round trip travel now to and from the Las Vegas Strip and to Sam Boyd Stadium. Save yourself some money, travel in comfort and avoid having to drive yourself, get a taxi or rent a car!

We have Coach Shuttle Buses to provide you transportation to Sam Boyd Stadium from Planet Hollywood before the event and back to Planet Hollywood after the event.

We have three (3) different time slots for traveling to the event. The first time slot will get you to the venue for the opening of the Pit Party and the doors for qualifying and practice at 12:30pm. The second time slot is in the middle of the day, if you are interested in going to the Pit Party and seeing qualifying, but want to go later in the day. The third bus will allow you to arrive at the event for opening ceremonies and the start of the race! Return passes are also available following the event!

Each pass is $11 each person for each way (includes a $1 service fee).

CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE: http://fs3.formsite.com/ccems/form557333281/index.html

Purchase your passes in advance and they will be waiting for you starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning at Planet Hollywood at the bus depot under the name you give during purchase. Please have a driver’s license and your PayPal receipt to pick-up your passes. We will also be selling passes at Planet Hollywood on Saturday at 10:00 AM and after the event at the bus pick-up on the West side of the stadium.

*The times listed on form are approximate times and the buses will attempt to leave within approximately 30 minutes of the time listed based on loading the buses and traffic. The travel time between Planet Hollywood and Sam Boyd Stadium is approximately 30 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the time of day and traffic. The shuttle bus is a perfect solution to your travel needs.

What's the law in Nevada regarding people sitting in the back of trucks? If it's legal, I'll stuff as many as I can in the back of the Vital MX truck and start running shuttles. Wink

It's great to experience a race in Vegas but that stadium leaves plenty to be desired. I'm out this year, heading to SD for the Air Races instead. Have fun guys.

Sheesh, it's like you like airplanes or something. (And those Red Bull guys are nucking futs.)

MGM? It's across the street from where I'm staying...over in the loooooow rent district. Smile

In most cases I'd rather be at a dirt bike race rather than watching someone else have all the fun in an airplane, but the Red Bull races are crazy. I'm convinced it's going to really catch on in the next few years, hopefully they add more events in the US so more people get a chance to see a great show. It's an event that someone with no aviation interest can really enjoy.

That reminds me, I need to get my Camera cleaned.....
