Im not saying anything on behalf of JT, I heard the interview. What I am saying is all the people on here defending James for tripiling onto JT, saying it would not have happed if JT would not have came up short. It was James' fault. If you rear end another car in traffic they dont give the ticket to the guy that got rear-ended.

I posted this in another thread look out but here is the way I see it. He has less than a second to decide and I highly doubt he was thinking JT was going to double it from the outside and come up short.

Even all the lights riders were wheel tapping that jump to the top of the tabletop, and Alessi did from the inside at that same moment. I am sure James thought JT was going to at least wheel tap it from the outside. Its not anyone's fault, its just a racing incident like JT said. said.

If JT$ doesn't punch JS7 straight in the nose he needs to hang his fuckin boots up. Fastest man on the planet and worst pack rider on the planet, bar none.

Last week I was reminded how amazing JS is to watch ride when he is at his best and this week I was reminded how shitty he rides when he leaves his brain in the first corner.

Come on, James. Don't gift Villopopto this championship.
IF RV wins the championship, it wont be a gift. It will be because RV worked his ass off.

There's a lot of guys I've posted with for years and generally like who need to go back to bed and see if they can get up again and bring their brains with them this time.

with all due respect FTE, i don't watch these races with rose colored glasses. sure i have been hard on stewart's actions in the past but i call it as i see it. if it was stroupe that did the same thing i would be saying the same thing. he had no reason tripling into that section right behind JT. none. he is faster everywhere on the track than JT, pass him and alessi elsewhere.

of course that doesn't mean roll every jump. but in a section only the top 4 or 5 guys are doing, is jumping it while in 15th place behind two slower riders a good idea? both reed and villo were jumping it, and they came from behind. but they had enough sense not to jump it right behind two slower riders.

we can agree to disagree, i've been wrong before. but just like so many times before, james' actions coming through the pack have led to other racers being in the line of fire.
Not trying to start an arguement or anything...

But if JS is that much faster than JT$, then should have JT$ gotten out of his line?

James is trying to play catch up after a bad start, he isnt going to slow down for other riders that are clearly slower than he is.
Reed is in the position to win a championship, JT is NOT. People like JS, RV, CR, TC, RD, are all in the business of winning championships. Not waiting around for slower riders.

Sure James could have been smarter than he was, but JT could have made a few better decisions as well.

James would NOT have hit him had JT made it through the section smoothly, JS barely hit is back tire even AFTER he cased it. Had JT not fucked up, JS would have not hit his back tire, and just been right on his ass to pass him.

Championships = money, money = hungry people. If youre out there, either be hungry, or get eaten.

Rear-ending someone in a car and racing supercross are two completely different things...

If youre stupid enough to ride close enough to hit someone if they hit the breaks, its theyre fault.

JS was close enough to land on him because its RACING, rear ending someone on the freeway has nothing to do with racing, comparing the two topics is completely irrelevant.

As i said in my last post, JT cased it, and JS still BARELY hit his back tire. Had JT NOT cased it, JS would have just been right on his ass, and not hit his tire. The crash is, for the most part, JT's fault. He fucked up by casing something right in front of Stewart... I don't get how casing something in front of another rider, thus that rider landing on you, makes it the other riders fault.

Either learn to clear a DOUBLE, or get the fuck off the track. Simple as that.

The problem is any other time that Stewart would have done that move he would have flown by them but since JT cased it was a collision, simple as that. Can't say Stewart sucks at coming though the pack because he has cut through them like no big deal in the past to come from last to podium positions time and time again. Was just a wrong place at wrong time deal. How was he supposed to know the guy who made the 450 main is going to be casing a double that most other riders are tripling over out of the wide line through the corner?

hah! this is the best thread ever! haters gonna hate...

If JT hadn't nose-cased that double he wouldn't have lost his momentum and balance which caused him to drift left into the fast line. If you watch carefully you'll see that when JS committed JT was completely clear of his line (so was the third rider to far riders' right) but then JT proceeded to ride into JS' line and that's when the collison occurred. JT obviously didn't veer on purpose and JS obviously didn't jump on him on purpose hence it was what you'd refer to as an "accident".

James is riding for the championship, how else was he supposed to make up for lost time if he didn't haul ass and take good lines? Especially on a track that was super hard to pass on. Yeah, he's made errors in judgment before but this was different than the Partridge incident and both riders involved agree with that. period. The only mistake James made in doing that jump was that he crashed and fell even further back, not in risking other riders' safety.

Maybe the AMA needs to expand the usage of the blue flag to include riders who are on the same lap but are clearly riding at vastly different speeds? Especially on one-lined tracks like Houston was. That's what they do at karting tracks if you're roadblocking, they make you get get outta the way.

p.s. did anyone else see when JS scrub-whip-transferred (or whatever you call it!) and pass IT9 and another rider mid-air off that sketchy triple coming out of the back turn right before the whoops? It was f'n awesome! crazy skills.

I never saw MC ever jump on anyone before..... and he was a Lot faster than the pack in the mid 90's...

so just because you are a lot faster, or a "pro" that is always supposed to be going WFO, is no excuse for the accidents Bubba has caused..

Bubba has been reallyyy lucky...... what if JT$$$, or Partridge, or Preston, or Hot Sauce, or RC had been paralyzed from one of those incidents?? Bubba either has a false sense that he could never injury another rider, or he simply doesn't care, either way he's a clear and present danger to every other rider on the track with him... does a rider have to get seriously injured before the AMA does something????

ya sure, Bubba landing on people is bound to sell a lot of tickets for Feld, so Feld is probably all against any type of sanction on Bubba... they wanna fill those seats, and one of the best ways of doing so is to keep Bubba on track and crashing.... the masses don't come to the stadium to watch anyone win, they are just there for the crashes...

to boil it down, what's more important, keeping Feld's bank account full, or rider safety???? what if Bubba lands on a rider next weekend and paralyzes him???

I think if JT$ hadn't caught his front tire on the lip of jump number 2 we wouldn't be having this conversation. James has a nano second to decide whether to pull the trigger and rthat moment came and went a split second before the flub on Thomas's part.
James had at least 3 laps to decide to do what he did. That's the problem with most racers. They don't take the long view. There's no other rider on the track that can afford to take as long a view as js can. That's why it seems even more dumb when he pulls this kind of impulsive crap. And why O'Mara is preaching 'patience'.

What if Kdub makes a mistake and paralyzes a rider? He went down in the same section, what if his bike took someones head off when he went down? See how it's bullshit to throw out what-if's? So your solution is to bench the best of the best? Racing is dangerous, the pros are well aware of the risks of racing or else they would seek alternate employment options.

Clearly, you have nothing to say. So why dont you just STFU?

Why not reply to the posts we made? Is it because you know were right? There has to be some reason...

Like Honcho said, look at the race, JT slipped up, went right into Stewie's line, on accident, if he wouldnt have slipped up, bobbled into JS line, and cased the double, nothing would have ever happened.

It's like a bullet, if you were shooting a gun (lets say you were in Afghanistan, or Iraq) shooting at some insurgents, and the rifleman to your right, who is CLEARLY standing there, trips, and falls right in front of you as your bullet is coming out of your gun, its not your fault that HE tripped.

Shit happens, JT bobbled, moved into JS line, and cased the double, there fore James' "bullet" hit him.

If youre a professional supercross rider, you should know how to clear a double, and you should know that youre not supposed to go right into someone else's line if youre already committed to taking another, (not saying he did it on purpose, but it did happen) or else someone is going to get hurt, in this case it was JT.

Another one of the stupidest post ever......I just laugh my ass off all day long reading all of the ridiculous, stupid, and pathetic opinions that get posted on this website from a bunch of nobody fucking "C riders", that ride a clapped out 10 year old free-style bikes, ride in their in blue jeans, t-shirt and work boots, work at part time at Sonic Burger, still live with their parents, have moto stickers all over the back window of their Dodge Neon, and somehow think that they are qualified to critique the riding abilities and racing decisions of a James Stewart, RV, Reed, K-dub, Barcia, etc!!!! So ok.....you are right, James Stewart is the worst supercross rider ever! He has NO RIGHT to on a supercross track, he obviously has no idea what he is doing, he is danger to anyone on the track (from 5th place on back) because he rides 5 seconds a lap faster and somehow CAN jump all the triples and other very dangerous obstacles that some of the slower guys just can't seem to do. Hey, maybe he needs to be sat down by the AMA officials and told he is not allowed to triple ANY jump when he is behind a slow ass JT, Blose, Friese, etc?? Sorry, but Bubba has been programmed since he was on a PW-50 to do one thing....do whatever it takes to win. Black flag James....are you kidding?

Ok.....I had a bad day and I am taking it out on (most of) you. Please just ignore this reply. Smile

and I was so naive to think this thread would be about Lil Bro, Sipes and Bam Bam ....
nice to see Deano pass back clean BOTH times, but Emig got it right: "I'm telling you, here on the East coast, the rider who wins this is going to have to trade paint on more than one occasion. It's going to be brutal." But don't worry, the AMA can always look the other way and Speed gets the action it wants.

Wow
So let me get this straight,
In your world the racing line now belongs to the racer in back,
and not the racer in the lead..
This is gonna be big news to 99.9% of the racers out there..

you sir must not have raced seriously or never made it to A or B class ever, or, you left your race brain at the track! Lucero and you have a history, especially Lucero, of hating on stewart, but since when do racers of that level need to come into bowl turns with caution, blinkers on, ready to break? let's ask them to honk next time. don't you think that they needed to commit to triple before they excited the turn or when entering? JT watched enough video since saturday to know what happened, but you know better than him of course.

Hey stud. I absolutely don't hate Stewart. I am a fan of everybody that shows up to a track, unloads a bike, swings his leg over and risks his neck. Hell, that even means you if you do. That being said racing incidents are racing incidents but it is funny how the most successful, not necessarily fastest, racers manage to curb their number of racing incidents.

My original post was obviously tongue in cheek and I don't think Stewart should be black flagged if he starts outside the top ten but he definitely needs to get his shit together when coming through the pack. In his last seven SX starts he has had two major incidents crashing into other riders. One which took him out for a season. Now, I am a huge JS fan but to hide behind a veil and think just because he is the fastest and most talented guy out there we can't criticize some of his choices is ridiculous.

I will say it here, again, I want James to win the SX championship in 2011 and in 2012. Make these young guys earn it. Don't lose making rookie mistakes.

you sir must not have raced seriously or never made it to A or B class ever, or, you left your race brain at the track! Lucero and you have a history, especially Lucero, of hating on stewart, but since when do racers of that level need to come into bowl turns with caution, blinkers on, ready to break? let's ask them to honk next time. don't you think that they needed to commit to triple before they excited the turn or when entering? JT watched enough video since saturday to know what happened, but you know better than him of course.
ah yes, the classic "you must have never raced ever in your life" comment. you obviously know very little of who i am or what i have done in my racing over the years. that is such a lame ass thing to say to someone. it's a forum, i'm entitled to my opinion just as you are.

how about just telling someone you disagree with their opinion? is that so hard?

my opinion is that he shouldn't have even attempted that triple with the rider in front of him doubling. especially on such a one lined track. my opinion wouldn't change whether it was reed, dungey, villopoto, or mcgrath doing the landing on another rider.

I think if JT$ hadn't caught his front tire on the lip of jump number 2 we wouldn't be having this conversation. James has a nano second to decide whether to pull the trigger and rthat moment came and went a split second before the flub on Thomas's part.

bullshit, james should have never tripled that when that close to two other riders. blame it on JT all you want, james was carrying so much more speed over it, even if JT got through clean JS would have hit him.

something needs to be done. it's not the first time he has pulled this kind of shit.
You've got to be kidding. Every rider but the lead should roll every jump in the first lap then. There's a lot of guys I've posted...

There's a lot of guys I've posted with for years and generally like who need to go back to bed and see if they can get up again and bring their brains with them this time.
Right. I think we could use a lot more common sense, and a lot less nonsense.

P.S. Im not a hater just tired of the nut swingers.
Following? You make it sound like he was behind him for a while. How many bike lengths was he behind Alessi and JT$ as they came across the finish line?

with all due respect FTE, i don't watch these races with rose colored glasses. sure i have been hard on stewart's actions in the past but i call it as i see it. if it was stroupe that did the same thing i would be saying the same thing. he had no reason tripling into that section right behind JT. none. he is faster everywhere on the track than JT, pass him and alessi elsewhere.

of course that doesn't mean roll every jump. but in a section only the top 4 or 5 guys are doing, is jumping it while in 15th place behind two slower riders a good idea? both reed and villo were jumping it, and they came from behind. but they had enough sense not to jump it right behind two slower riders.

we can agree to disagree, i've been wrong before. but just like so many times before, james' actions coming through the pack have led to other racers being in the line of fire.
Kevin Windham botched that jump while in the lead, he crashed and took himself out. What if there was someone next to him or in front of him and he crashed them both, would you be so quick to jump on him? I don't think so. It was a technical track, many crashes. JT botched the jump in front of the fastest rider coming from the back of the pack. It happens, get over it.

"fore, james' actions coming through the pack"

This has not only happened to James but other riders. This track was tight and to come through the pack fast when down in the holeshot is what you do.

My question is, who are you to tell James which jumps he should do and not do? Are you as fast as he is? Were you in the position behind a rider you though was going to jump but didn't an had to make a split second decision as to whether he was going to jump or not? If he were behind Alessi, Alessi jumped to and off of the table top, and if James would have been behind him, nothing would have happened. I just don't think any of us are in the position to tell any racer which jumps he should do and which he shouldn't. Crashing is part of the sport, the fastest guys riding on the edge are going to crash more. It is not like James is a dirty rider like Reed that try's to take out other riders because that is the only way he can win.

Has anything good come out of Utah? Smile Just kidding.
"my opinion is that he shouldn't have even attempted that triple with the rider in front of him doubling."

And maybe that is why we don't see you racing AMA SX and in the points battle. They have to take risks, Windham took the same risk on the same jump, where is he? In the hospital. It is all about risk and that's what can happen when you take them.

For all of you who think that James didn't have enough time to check up and double I want to ask if you've ever been on a motocross track before. With his talent he had more than enough time to slow down. James doesn't pay attention to anyone else and that is a reason as to why he is so fast. But at the same time that is a reason why he has caused so many crashes.
