I have 100 starts on that track ,I have seen way to many many people get med flighted off from a crash in that corner. It just dumb. 3 gear pinned on a right hand corner , no way to tap your rear break . That's why I always started on the far outside so I had a place to stay out of trouble. Time to change,
I remember DV12 getting ruined off that start in ‘07 on his MDK Honda.
OK... based on the existing layout, exactly HOW do they change it? Where does the starting line go???
I'll hang up and listen.
wouldnt the inside be safer there? Kitchens might say so

Why can’t you use your brakes?
They should remove all downhill switchbacks with a double...
People are so black and white.
OP is not wrong that the start there claims an abnormal amount of folks. The first straight is very high speed and rough as well. Lots of gnarly crashes in those first two sections
Rember RC in 98 he did a can can off 1 of the big down hill doubles, with a big lead. He landed hit a hole & endowed , broke his rear fender & visor off. The crowd went nuts, he quickly got to his bike started it . And still won.
With the holeshot that’s the ticket. Come in 10 ft out at an angle . Hard to get a bike length lead tho. . Stand on pegs & ride that rear brake hard & keep front brake pressure. To get the frontend to stick , there’s spot under the sand that r Very slick. I did am day in 97 , 1,400+ riders. I was in 6th gear wanting more on the start. 125 b full gate no one let off until you where on the ground . Bikes cartwheeling in the pack in the 1st turn. If you get through that there’s a big pile up in the 1st left . Riders wo in 4th into a stopped pack. Am day used to be nuts.
Again, 40 bikes on the line, Way too many! 30 Bikes on the line. WIll help some. Wont lose much money with 30 bikes on the gate as opposed to 40. All about Greed.
I was standing right there!
You ever go into the first corner 3 or 4 gear pinned turning to the right. Yah grab the front brake see what happens. Ride a dirt bike then make a post
You cant???
Newsflash …. Don't take you foot off the peg and you can use the rear brake too.
Why does it matter if you’re turning right or left when you grab the front brake?
According to the OP, it sounds like if you do grab the front brake when turning right, you apparently do not ride dirt bikes. However, at the same time he mentioned at that point you are in 4th gear pinned, so I guess if you are in 4th gear pinned, and turning right, and grab the front brakes, at the same time, it's bad.
