You all want to watch pro moto but have an issue with what it takes to create a pro

Parents & man friends that talk like this are what takes the enjoyment out of youth sports in general.

I remember back when if you ran heat races AT the Regional, they didn't count as your first moto.  One time in late 90's I ran a heat race, crashed, went to LCQ and got top 4....and then had to race the 3 motos for my class.  Obviously they can't do that now because you'd need a 5 day event.

I thought they were onto something with the Youth/Amateur/Vet 3-Regional format they ran for a few years.  But it just didn't stick.  I did also enjoy the Covid "super regionals" -- that was pretty cool.

Here's how I read it.

A. You must qualify out of your area to participate in the regional systsem.

B.  Once area qualified you can go to any regional?

C. People who hadn't qualified from the areas events lined up at this regional.

D. Can those who didn't qualify from the area program still get to LL's through a regional even though they failed at the first step "A" in the qualifying system (area's)

Hers how I thought it went.

You must qualify in the area first. You then must qualify out of the regional to get your "ticket".

If you didn't qualify from the regional you could be an alternate.

Regardless, how is it acceptable for people that didn't make it through the area qualifier to pay money and line up for an event that is supposed to be qualified for? Rain has no effect on that. That's the point, there wouldn't be multiple divisions of a class that only 40 kids should be qualified for if some entity wasn't money hungry and trying to siphon every dollar they can out of these events. All amateur motocross is suffering because of these things. Too many classes, too many participation trophies, and too many sandbaggers. All in the name of the Almighty dollar.

I remember when I tried to qualify for my first time 10 something years ago, we were talking with our friends who had two kids who qualified in multiple classes every year. At one point one of them says “You know if you don’t make it through here, you can still show up to the regional and try”. I looked over at my dad kind of intrigued and he didn’t hesitate to say “We’re not fucking doing that.” in front of everyone.

I stand firm in my belief that people should only be able to run one area and one regional. That’s it. I have close friends that have ran multiple of both and I think it’s bullshit.

The $878 only gets you in Sunday too. Last time I went it was $75 per day early arrival

Also, they changed the name of that $878 Fee to "facility fee" to make sure everyone understood that even if you are not camping or parking an RV at the track you still have to pay it!  hehe

B: you can only go to the regional that the area qualifier was for!!!!

D: you must attend the area!! if you didn’t get in the top nine, you can still be an alternate at the regional, and still go to Loretta’s if you get in the top six at the regional!!
and you must qualify in the regional that the area was for!! Hopefully this clears things up a little bit!! because a lot of people think you can just show up if you didn’t run an area qualifier and still qualify for Loretta‘s!!!! YOU CAN’T!!!

You can do that, if you don’t qualify inside the top nine in your area!! but if you can’t qualify in the top nine in an area, the chances of qualifying in the top six at a regional are slim to none!!! Unless you were hurt and only rode the area so you could go to the regional!! but you must complete half the laps in one of the motos to even qualify to go to the regional!! my rider did that this year because he was hurt!! and then qualified for two classes at the regional!! but he had to complete half the laps of one Moto at the area to even be considered as an alternate!! hopefully this clears up some of the bullshit people have been saying on here!!

What's the going rate for an alternate to pay a qualified rider for their spot?

You have to finish one moto at an area, then you can sign up for the corresponding regional. It's a cluster.
