Park your car on the side of the road where you’re at, and hike your ass in, I’ve done it before.

There is a back way into the track taking Route 119 to just over the West Virginia border. From there, you catch the same back road leading into the track off of Route 79 from the opposite direction.

Not the usual 2 ways in and out but there is a way by turning left where you end up going along the river all the way to Morgantown that I use when leaving

The explanation(s) that are obvious and that no one wants to hear…

Many of our tracks/facilities are rural…way out there on country roads with limited access; and, often, with one road in & out.

Hell, even Unadilla seems like a pain in the ass to me…but, it’s worth it.

Back in the day, Hollister was waaaay out there to most people…and like Unadilla…it was worth it.

Leave for the race EARLY.

Leave after the race…LATE.

These last few years, I’ve “come and gone” from the Nat’s and quite a few SXs on my ADV (even A1/A2 can be a PITA).

Pulling into the gates at 7 AM always works well …. And being from the moto industry where shops open at 10 AM I hate early mornings

I don’t understand why the outdoor nationals cannot be held in the middle of the city, surrounded by nice restaurants, easy parking, public transportation and comfy seating. Oh Shit, it is, and it’s called Supercross ! The Nationals are twice the PITA, but 10 times the fun. As Team Green says…plan your day accordingly!

Do the local Police not help with traffic mitigation?

They do, but I think there’s only two ways in and out of the track. Factor that in with limited parking and it can get a little crazy.

To the original post, the last couple years I’ve been getting there between 6:45/7AM. It makes leaving a breeze as well.

No one wants to hear this but it is a result of the increased reliance on what I call "the purple line", aka "navi".

When I'm driving around and see a big line of cars I usually point and say "that must be the purple line".

I've heard the same said about Soutwick, and Budds Creek. I think where you park and when you arrive/leave makes a huge difference.

I thought the traffic was pretty wild this year. I typically leave my house around 730-745ish am and get off the exit to Mount Morris in about an hour later. So we were going up the normal windy roads a little after 8:30 and ended up sitting for 30mins in the same spot, right as I could see the track on the far hill. Typically, if you can get up there before 9am, you are ok but this year seemed especially bad. Luckily I got to park in 1 of the employee lots, so when we left it wasn't bad. I left halfway through the 2nd moto because my buddy had to be home before 7. But I heard it was a mess leaving, plus the construction on the highway lol. Still a great day though. I had fun, as always.

Huh?

My line is usually blue…?

Anyways, I get what you’re saying. I often look, for a way around “Waze”. You know, the app that sends people on an alternate route/routes until it turns into THE route? (aka, the Red Line! 🤣)
