Two Riders blaming track prep on live... IMO a GP shouldnt have any dust. To dangerous for riders.

Watched last race here on YouTube and track looks better on the other direction

That’s not dusty int he way Carlsbad or anywhere used to be. If all you want to see if rutted out tacky soil we might as well make MXGP a winter series and give up riding in summer.

Qualifying races delayed for extra watering and track maintenance.

Read: track will be flooded for MX2.

i'm happy we have an oldschool hardpack/concrete track on the calendar. Don't think the venue/location and water prep is up to par for a GP, but imo we should have at least 2 of these types of tracks on the calender.

Yep that's what happens when you water concrete. But like rym says it's good to have a mix of tracks in the series.

I raced there in 1985. There was a concrete drainage pipe that ran all the way underneath the pits. It was about shoulder width in diameter. One of the Kawasaki mechanics bet another guy £100 that he couldn’t crawl through it.

The guy succeeded, got covered from head to toe in shit, but won the bet.

Oh, and Malherbe arrived at the track in a new Ferrari. And Brad Lackey showed up just to watch the race.

What a funny story 😂 £100 in 1985 is about £400 in today’s money, I dunno if I would crawl through shit for £400 lol. What...

Not at all. Andre had considerable style and carried himself with more class than some modern day riders.

Well, Febvre complained about the dust after time practice, so he can't say they don't listen to the riders anymore...

He had Ferraris at the GPs - and, I remember Marty Smith (and Tommy Croft?) had Porsches while still in High School.

I also remember his Wife ( Pamela? - I might be wrong on that) being very classy / stylish at the races.

Graham Noyce's wife was Pam Mosier (Gaylon's former wife).

I'm not certain of  Andre's wife's name. Sabine maybe?  She was also a classy lady.

Yes , Sabine was / is her name. I knew I'd got it wrong with  Pam(ela)

And Yes, she certainly was classy - very far from being a 'Pit Tootsie', that's for sure.

Probably in the minority here, but I absolutely love this track and the way the MXGP attack it and have to be creative to pass

Agreed, this is the sort of conditions just not seen anymore in MXGP and it is great to see a track that offers fans plenty of different viewing options.
