Didnt they change the name of sx futures to smx next that way they could do supercross and motorcross? Where is the mx combine? Everyone knows we need an emx type series over here and it kind of seemed like we were moving towards something. On title 24 RV had a good point that if they can fit wmx in the schedule they should be able to fix the mx combine. If they want they could do half and half 6 races for smx next outdoors and 5 races for wmx. Why is this not happening?
Just to answer ur question where mx combine is:

So just 2 races? Its better than nothing but we need to do better than that. We need a unified full series like futures. They need at least 4 races.
It needs to be a series. 3 rounds west, 3 rounds Midwest, 3 rounds east. A week off, then Top from each division race for championship at round 11
I agree, 2 rounds outdoors is kind of a joke

Would much rather see combine showing the future pros battling over wmx where it’s not much racing…..
I think we could get both. Theyve already shown they can fit wmx in the broadcast so they could do the same with the combine race. Theres 11 outdoor races what if we did futures races at 5 of the races and wmx at the other 6? Then both series get a full schedule and are on tv.
This would give the top amateurs a full series to compete in, on real mx tracks, and against the very best amateurs. Theyd get to experience the pressure of being on tv plus racing in front of the whole industry. It would give them a shot to really show what theyve got on the pro tracks before theyre thrown in with the big dogs.
The Canadian series is a good option for young riders who aren't quite ready.
Why are we showing "invited" youth amateurs racing in the same program as professionals?
Run the combine/futures race on the Friday and make it a standalone program on streaming. Same for WMX.
What you’re suggesting is such a simple fix and should be what is done…unfortunately, although I think highly of DC, I feel the reason for them not doing that has more to do with taking some of the luster away from LL than in reality what is best for the sport…
It is certainly not as relevant as far as being a proving ground for future professionals as it once was. It would be an interesting question to ask MXSports if we could see more in the future, our amateur system needs a better developmental track.
Big news!!!! Lewis confirmed today on the vitalmx podcast that next year the mx combine will do half of the outdoor races and wmx will do the other half. The mx combines will be on tv and do 5 races instead of 2. The first motos will be friday like wmx. Thats huuuuuge for making the amateur scene in the us more competitive. Seems that what we were asking for in this thread is actually what they had planned. It made too much sense.
MX should be a 3 day event.
Friday:
250 & 450 Press day
WMX practice & qualifying
SMX Next practice & qualifying
Saturday:
250 & 450 qualifying
WMX practice/racing
SMX Next practice/racing
Sunday:
250 & 450 practice
250 & 450 racing
Pros don’t need to be there until Saturday morning if they don’t want to ride press day.
Saturday full day of events
Sunday big race day.
How many rounds does WMX get, 6? If so they should make the other 5 rounds SMX next/combine and imitate what the gps are doing for the EMX class. They need something more than world minis and mini os and crap
Thats exactly what lewis said theyre doing next year which is awesome.
Finally an emx type series for the amateurs in this country. Its been a long time coming. Our amateurs were not racing enough races and all of the top kids were not able to all race eachother consistently. You can see it in the next wave of kids where almost all of the top guys/kids are from overseas now. This will for sure start to close the gap again. Plus its both mx and sx so its going to show whos the most well rounded, vs just picking the kid who won lorettas and praying.
This along with the age change coming into effect should start creating some more well rounded, mature kids who are ready to go immediately. Id like to see sx/mx next become the “regional” series and 250 and 450 become full schedule classes. These kids will be on tv and everything it would perfectly take that slot.
How's this.
If you race the combines, you are still eligible to race LL's The combines aren't a professional race.
That's actually rad if it happens.
Does EMX125 take away from the luster of the Junior World Championships?
Is it still invite only?

The plan for changing from sx futures to smx next was to have futures for both sx and mx and it sounds like thats what is finally starting next year. Right now its just a 2 race combine, but next year theyre racing 5 races. Smx next is a 5 round series with a winner at the end, so it sounds like this will be basically the same thing but for mx. So a 5 race series with two 25 minute plus 1 lap motos. Sounds good imo.
Will they give a championship plate at each round??
They got rid of the two day schedule. No way they go to three.
just add it to the list of issues with mx sports 😂😂
It’s a joke. If it was really about developing talent then why not let the talent race?
Looking at the entry list for the combine and not one rider from CA.
Added class for the 3 Playoffs ?
“Grow the sport”. Haha
Vincent Wey and Brandon Eade.
Why limit it to 25 entries? There’s a 40 rider gate, let riders that qualified for LL race it if they want to. Isn’t it just more money for MXSports?
This would cut into MXSports Business
