And it was at this point in the multi page thread where I went looking for the Stop Notifications tab.... 😑

Haahaa! I’m not quite there yet! 😂

I'm still wondering if its true that Chase and Garret got into it after and then if Kier and Garret got into it. It would seem weird for Chase to argue with Garret because he almost hit him with a bike. And weirder if Kier joined in. What a Shitshow.

If Chase nearly hit Garrett with his bike during his little huff, and Keir decided Garret was the one who needed his behavior adjusted rather than his own son, you really don't need to look much further to understand the dynamic at play.

It's disgraceful that most of the moto 'media' don't actually report anything. It's completely unacceptable. As mentioned earlier, they all say they know what happened, that someone told them 'exactly' what happened and yet never tell the public. Are they 'bros' or media? Clearly bros. The exception in this particular case is Weege. He said on the Racer X podcast that he heard it wasn't a ghostride so much as a not putting the bike on the stand and letting it drop to the ground.

As for Chase's dad. He was lucky Marchbanks didn't drop him...

Oh come on, I like Weege, he’s great but hes also very much ‘broto media’. Just view one episode of the Weege show.

I agree. He is definately broto 'media'. But in this one instance he did actually provide some detail about what happened.

I think you're missing context about the "Contractors", there are only 8-10 in the world that can do the job you want, and most of them are already contracted somewhere else.  If your job is known as the worst one available, then even if you're lucky enough to hire a contractor, it's going to cost a lot more.

not sure I understand your point, but there is a list of experienced racers without contracts for next year posted here somewhere. Guys like Mookie and a couple others that are steady 5-10 racers each week and occasional podium. No worse than Barcia, Ferrandis, and the other guys riding Triumph, Beta, etc.

Keep in mind the new KX450 drops for next year and supposedly has many or all the changes and fixes people said were needed. Plenty of the unsigned riders would jump at the chance to ride it and if I was Chase I would just lay low and ride the new bike before trying to force an exit- but that's just me.

Chase's job is to win races, Marchbank's job is to be a top 10 guy.   Those are 2 different jobs.

Since there isn't any video, I'm just going to throw this out there. Chase's old man's name is some shit I never heard of in my life. Does he even lift bro?

I didn't say you did. You suggested Changing MANAGEMENT to resolve a RIDER problem on the team for a 2nd year in a row. A contract is a contract is a contract. BOTH parties willing agreed to this contract with their own obligations spelled out. Kawi would be totally within their rights to make Chase honor his obligation under contract here.

This isn’t just a rider problem.

I don't know if there are "many" employees saying the same thing, but even if there was, it's irrelevant. Riders are independent contractors and beyond their contract terms they have no say in how a company runs the business. This is not like a union here where employees can file grievances, etc. You better hope it never comes to that, or the sport is ruined the same way MLB, NFL, etc. are subject to work stoppages, strikes, etc. You think Feld would ever go for that? I had a long response written out but something went wrong and I lost it so I’ll shorten it to this:

How many times does this need to happen before the team owners stop looking at the riders and start looking at the management?

It is always surprising what a positive atmosphere, testing, and a team that gels can do to "fix" a bike.

We actually do not know this. We said just two years ago chase can win on anything as well. But we actually have more proof that it would likely go south for them as well then it would go good. We have two prior champions that are extremely talented two years in a row saying the bike isn’t good enough.

I agree with you (although I’ve got no idea what your last sentence means!).

In any case both Chase and Kawi are both in highly undesirable positions with not many appealing options.

If Chase leaves without turning this around his market value will tank and his only possible chance of another factory ride is if Star throws him a lifeline but it won’t be on favourable terms to Chase.

Also if Chase leaves no serious title contending rider is going to touch them for the foreseeable future unless they make some radical changes.

Or they both grin and bear it for the next two years with poor results and a lot of wasted money.

Probably the least damaging option is Chase stays, Kawi has a management clean out, and gets a manager that is able to take a no nonsense approach with Chase and gets him back on an even keel.

I agree with you 100%…Bruce Stjernstrom left Kawi in the 90’s to run the IJSBA (The AMA/FIM of jet ski racing) he literally ran it into the ground left to work for Monster and then came back to Kaw to be Dan Fahie’s boss….and here we are…

How many times does this need to happen before the team owners stop looking at the riders and start looking at the management?

Weimer, ET, Ando, Prado, Sexton....

Starting with ET and on we've seen Kawi start by doing anything and everything the rider wants...Until they decide it's time to start doing things their way. That time period seems to have shortened and the team has put up a lot less results since.... And I'm sorry, engineers will only get a bike/car/whatever so far before the rider/driver input needs to be taken seriously. Although with Chase, I feel he is a guy that can easily get lost continuously CHASE-ing settings looking for an unrealistic level of comfort. Kawi has not only a management problem, but quite a bit of a rider/family problem as well. We've already heard from James why he and Chase stopped working together.

Like Yamaha before them, something needs to change to get Kawasaki back to what they once were and consistently competing at the front every weekend.

Well damn why don't Kawi just go back to the vending machine and get a better rider?

Yes but it is good enough, Chase won 2 SX on the bike. I never said chase could win on anything although he has won on Honda , KTM and Kawi.

This. Even in F1 which is the most tech heavy motorsport on the planet with roughly 1 million sensors per car, the drivers input and sensations have to be taken into account. There are countless examples of the team staff saying things are good per their data and a driver correctly finding issues that need to be addressed.

But the two riders in question are anomalies.

Prado- first year stateside. Big personal life changes. Foods, schedule, SX, aluminium frame, lots of things culminated in making Prado unhappy.

Sexton- Proven head case on his two previous brands.

Let’s say the next rider they hire might be like Hunta or JCoop- guys who knuckle down & get on with the task at hand without ego.

All the riders from 2015 on left on bad terms Weimer, Savatgy, Eli, Anderson, Prado…..Ironically  Bruce Stjernstrom came back to Kaw in 2015 to head the race teams…coincidence…doubtful…The only reason he is there is because he brought Monster to the team when he was with Monster prior to joining Kawi again…

With the same people in place that are suppose to get the bike good enough. Maybe the bike sucks but Kawasaki needs to audit(for lack of a better word)everything. Then if they find the bike isn’t good enough then at least they tried everything.

I’m not suggesting that Chase is giving them an ultimatum at all and I doubt he is…Just saying if nothing changes it will not get better and these morans have already had one top tier rider walk because of their inability to get the bike where it needs to be and to have another one do the same will put this team in a position that nobody will want to ride for them

And Kawasaki would be dumb to keep the same people running the team in place. Both can be true.

According to RV on his podcast, he claims the bike is plenty fast to be fast on. If Chase struggle with washing the front out, then practice corners and figure out what you’re doing wrong.
RV had many top 5’s in his career.

That was over 12 years ago prior to the current management team

I know he had plenty of top 10’s, ok!

Id like to believe he may know what he’s talking about when it comes to the KX450. 😂😂🤷🏿‍♂️

The horrible bike got two of the fastest segments.  Both roller sections.  So I guess they have rollers figured out at least.  Lol

It's crazy that Sexton had the fastest split in the rollers considering how bad he looked through the ones at Pala (at least in the first moto).
