for pretty much the 1st time in his entire racing career, he was right there w/ the leaders and got dropped like a bad habit. He knows it, and you know it. Yes he'll improve, but right now he's having to wrestle with the knowledge that "I went as fast as I can go...and I got smoked". Do I think he'll find more speed? Sure. But it's probably a pretty sour meal of humble pie for the young man right now cause there's no arguing that he was not in the same race as the lawrences.
Honestly I thought the track prep yesterday benefited Prado because it resembled the way MXGP does things. It wasn’t ripped as deep and didn’t get as rutty as it has in the past and the track was really fast.

Jett looked really good. But, Deegan has no quit and will no doubt get better, His second National and he's on the box. Pretty friggin impressive. He came through the pack also...so Deegs is doing just fine. If I were Jett, I'd be worried about this kid. He's going to win.

Keeping Jett "within a few seconds" might be the most useless metric in motocross.
I think everyone is screwed not just deegan as long as jett is on the track. What was the stat hes only not won 3 races in his entire outdoor career or something? Last year I believe he won every race except 2. Its like the rc years, windham would have been a multi time champ if not for rc, same with hunter, deegs..etc.
He didn’t win right away in 250’s I believe too did he when he went pro? I can see him getting better for sure. The guy works on his weakness and comes back stronger.

You are putting the brothers together like they are on the same level. If Deegan got beat by this mysterious one-legged rider (looked to me like Jett had both legs), then so did Hunter and the rest of the riders that lined up on the gate.

He was right there pushing Hunter for 20 minutes then he settled for 3rd points so after 2 rounds he is right there in the points battle so lets see how the points are 1/2 way through the series and going into the playoffs. IF he smoothed down some like them he will be right there with them.
He is good at SX style attack mode like Webb which might be really interesting for playoffs.

Haiden is 2.5 years younger than Jett. In 10 years Haiden will be 30 and Jett will be 32. As a reminder, Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac are 32 and 33 right now.

He’s doing just fine. Unfortunately for him, his personality and antics have brought out a very vocal group of people who don’t like him to discredit what have actually been good rides. He only has himself to blame for that. The Lawrence brothers are on another level and a humbling will be good for Haiden.
