Pretty funny to be honest, I don't do burnouts in carparks or whatever but I got pulled over in Aus for screeching the tires from at a set of lights last year as I got held up in town. Doesn't take much to get fined or arrested in todays over controlled world.

I don't think the cop was power tripping at all.

He doesn't know who is in the car. He has to prepare himself for someone who is armed and high. He has to project authority so as to get the person breaking the law to comply.

I thought it was a perfect exchange from both the law and the law breaker....if anything Deeg's hurt his street cred by not saying  "Do you know who the fuck I am?" 😁

Not one hint of cringe...our guy Danger is forgetting to stay in character.

My thoughts are the same , he accepted he had fucked up and was calm and respectful to the officer ,

I see your point, but I think it became pretty clear right away who they were dealing with.

I would've snapped the 3rd tome he asked if had anything on me...

I just had no idea a kid could get cuffed and stuffed and brought downtown for ripping a doughnut in a vacant parking lot....

Meanwhile,  wheelieboys are across town....

Once  he was busted he did everything right and was very respectful to the officers.

I think this is the first time I’ve ever heard him talk and was genuinely impressed!

The cop said the parking lot was actually still considered the street a couple of times. He says the street name at least once while Deegan was apologizing, and mentions that’s why he can’t give leniency.
Hopefully the turd in the passenger seat isn’t one of Deegan’s “friends.” Sounded like he was throwing Deegan under the bus when the cop pulled him out of the car (“I wasn’t involved”).

Edited to address your wheelie boys comment: if they're across town, they’re not in this cop’s patrol sector. He was taking care of his area, which, unfortunately for him, Deegan was breaking the law in.

I do not think it became "pretty clear right away who they were dealing with". What do you mean by this?

"Meanwhile, wheelieboys are across town..."...meaning the police in this video do nothing about them? I disagree 100%.

I bet this officer has the support of his chief of police, his city council, mayor and the governor to uphold the law which he did.

Take your frustrations out about wheelieboys and lack of law enforcement out on blue state city cops where it belongs.

I guess things changed real quick when the cuffs were applied.

While stupid as hell, this wasn't exactly the crime of the century.

That R8 was meant for heading up hwy 181 out of Morganton. (IYKYK) Not spinning around in some lame ass Florida parking lot.

Why is he staying a NC resident?   Florida residents have lower taxes on income and car registration.

I think he got the whole arrest and tow car treatment because all these states are cracking down on the street takeover burnouts in the middle of intersections shit, but that wasn't really what he was doing.

I think its pretty normal for a 19 year old especially one that is close with his parents to want to call them if they are being arrested. Also hopefully he never hangs out with that guy in the passenger seat again that guy was a loser.

Hey, he brought Jett's girlfriend into it for no reason. Game on.

Why would I do that?   If I hurt your feelings somehow, I'm sorry.

I'd be happy to consider the "deal" if you could help by filling in the details of it. Otherwise I don't know what you're talking about.

You’ve been filled in on the details. You just refuse to honor them.

What would you have done when you ‘snapped’?  The officers did nothing wrong. Deegan did nothing wrong in his interactions with them. He did the donuts and had the fake IDs, but those aren’t capital offenses.

If someone ‘snapped’ because they were treated the way that these officers treated Deegan, then they might have some serious entitlement issues that could take years of therapy just to put a dent in….!

People who talk like Spark on the internet have more than likely never dealt with police in any capacity. Which is not a bad thing at all. If you “snap” on the police because they ask if you have anything illegal on you, well you’re in for a bad day. Criminals don’t even “snap” at that kind of question. Someone with severe mental illness is the only person who’s gonna “snap” in a situation like that.

I can’t say that I deal with officers a lot on traffic stops, but I’d say probably about a dozen times since my last ticket (July 17, 1997!). In those dozen or so times, I’ve never had the urge or inclination to ‘snap’ on them, and I’ve had questions much more intrusive than if I have anything illegal in my car. Keeping an even keel has worked out pretty well for the last 29 years or so, so I think it’s probably worth continuing.

I go down the YouTube rabbit hole watching those police bodycam videos and the overall theme I see is that there is a subset of people from all socioeconomic backgrounds that believe their natural reaction should be to instigate conflict with law enforcement. And it rarely seems to work out well for them.

Again, Deegan did a pretty decent job working with these officers for a 19yo kid with a metric shit ton of money today. It was actually nearly a complete 180 from his usual public persona. I have to give him credit for ‘reading the room’ on this one.

Sounds good.  Do you know how many times I've asked about anything on an individual and they say no,  only to have something?  Snap away Sir.

Wow, crazy the freedom state throws You in jail for a donut.  I'm lucky I scouted places better for my creative driving in the past.  Even when I was caught doing much more dangerous things, I never got arrested.  But I was on private property for most of my creative driving.

Now kids are getting tickets for doing donuts in the snow in empty parking lots.  We used to live in snowy parking lots , drifting back when I was his age.  2 of us at a time drifting a course or taking turns.  I feel bad for kids these days in many ways.

What 90s movie had the skit with the dudes jumping over the highway and the cop pulls up and writes the guy a ticket for riding on the road. Then someone jumps over him and the cop goes “he didn’t touch the road”
