I keep seeing Facebook mx "channels" just shamelessly grabbing video and photo content and just posting it as their own. On Saturday after Vital posted a picture of the factory HRC450 at Pala a channel just posted the same photo two hours later with no credit. They are constantly grabbing video content that people worked hard and spent money to create and just claiming it as their own, and I see many fans essentially supporting them by commenting.
If you see it, call it out in the comment section. These scumbags have no ethics. I guess it's a losing battle in today's crazy world but it really steams me.
Vital MX guys- you should watermark your content!
I'm impressed that DirtBikeLover actually built up a following by simply reposting content from actual sources. Like who opts to follow them instead of someone like RacerX? I don't get it.
I don't know if people are unaware or just don't care. I have been closely following moto for 40 years so I have seen all the legit content. It's depressing that people that worked hard and spent money creating great video just have it stolen by anonymous jerk-offs.
Indian bots
It's only going to get worse... not just moto, but every topic...

I am watching a Rick Beato interview (musician) and he says 100,000 fake songs are loaded to Spotify every day. If you write a book and post it on Amazon, within minutes a summary book will appear. All written by AI.
Of course, I am a writer/musician by trade. There are still ways, but you have to find a way to bypass these platforms.
My pet peeve is the revisionist history offered by AI because it sends a spider to Reddit and FB and takes the misinformation from that and returns it to users as facts. Drives me crazy. Bad bike comparisons, bad test info, misconceptions are the rule not the exception. The next generation is doomed to old wive's tales and conjecture.
The other is AI photos that start off with someone else's work and then modify it. Gianatsis is gonna stroke out one day when he sees some of his 70's photos being reused.🤣
People still use facebook?
Ya darn straight
i bet even that guy could figure out how to do his own avatar. 😄
do you really use face book… seriously?
I heard about a "Facebook" on my My Space acct, is it something new ?
But it will self implode , because the costs of 'stealing' will rise, and the returns will diminish, so you will have Ai copying Ai , and it just spirals to nothing.
Look at the Podcast / You Tube world. There is so much content, even in Moto, that you cant possibly watch/listen to even half of it between races, there is only so much news and 'retro' you can do before people just go 'meh'. This is no reflection of the quality of the content, but just the reality of saturation and dilution.
I get why Feld want to limit Media, have proper legit people only, and lose the masses of half arsed content creators and reposters, its a start, but only if you are the right side of the cutoff.
I totally agree with the FB thing, i block and report loads of them , there is a world of difference between reposting and sharing, and ripping off content, and those that play nicely can be worth a follow, but as it gets worse and worse, the returns will be less, and the costs will be more and the Ai bubble WILL burst.
Netflix are already seeing people just sacking it off, because a sub isnt enough any more, and 1000 recommendations of 'you watched this , so you might like that ' just make people give up and check out.
I love MX and am fortunate enough to be well involved, but i am very much at a 'watch the races' and move on phase, save for posting on here.
I have left behind WSB,BSB WRC Rally, Nascar, Indy and F1 , because they are too hard to watch, and you could almost immerse yourself in each of those , 100% at the exclusion of all others.
Serious question…how do you sell your bikes? Thats about the only reason I have a fakebook account
People actually SELL bikes ? Who Knew ?
LOL.
I’d add local track info. I took a break from fakebook and quickly realized I wasn’t able to keep tabs on who was open and when, particularly for last-minute openings/closures.
And as bad as dealing with the marketplace crowd sucks, it’s still the easiest way to sell stuff locally.
How else do you find out when the tracks are open?
Moto and Marketplace is the only reason why I still have FB. All the tracks around me use it to communicate to the riders. I really would like to not use it.
Pit Row
“Instead”
This is where you’re getting it wrong. Nobody follows one ‘instead’ of another. They just follow them all.
I don’t think people care where/who they see it for the most part.
I left Facebook for 8 years but I am a local musician and it is excellent for that purpose! It's a great way to promote local shows. So that is my primary reason to be on there. It's the place people go to find out what is happening.
There's a bunch of guys ripping off MX Revival right now, and that's a crime against humanity to hurt someone with a Schwarzenegger accent as good as his.
I tried being a musician, but it turns out that takes an incredible amount of skill, practice, and talent. Furthermore, as your likely know, buying a guitar that looks like your favorite artists guitar DOES NOT make you sound like them. Total bummer.
