Honestly the track looked fantastic!

Multiple lines in every corner and a good layout. The heavy rain destroyed that a bit like every mud race, but in the second motos the riders used different lines again. There were 3-5 lines in the corners, some changed during the motos. Really sweet. We stood at different places every moto so we went around the whole track. Soil looked prime to, nothing like regular T'thal soil.

When the leaders start in front there can't be a lot position changig, but deeper in the field the guys showed that it's not the track and went left and right and passed each other. There's a video of Gayser und Febrve who went side by side around a part oft the track.

T'thal was a bad day for some, good day for some others. Some guys looked really smooth, others a bit on the edge. Was interesting to see how different those guys still are.

Was defintily a worthy trip even with the rain!

I was not there, only watched from my armchair, so can only give an armchair point of view

To me, it was OK, but not a track I want to repeatedly watch, no doubt the rain did not help and played a part in lack of overtaking lack of great racing, it just looked to risky to go for it. I'm sure there is better tracks in Germany

Even the ktm pit boys "enduro style"  and lucas saying it himself, which he seemed to have no problem with

Unfortunately mostly in euroupe, it's the hands of the weather gods

I'm of the firm opinion that Teutchenthal is a track i would be happy to see go away if some other German track can host the German GP.

There certainly must be a bigger track than Teutchenthal in Germany for a GP.

Though, I doubt that another track will be used - Last night they announced that 'Cute Lil Teut' ( c/r my GF) had just signed for another 10 years, with the likelihood of an MXdN being in those 10 years.

How they afford InFront's / The Luongo's fees to have it, I do not know. There's not much room for spectators there - I've been there, and, (absolutely) packed, it might be able to hold 4 to 5k spectators, if that?

That is unfortunate. But i get it, the financial side of things probably works well for all stakeholders. But i'm really tired of this track from a fan POV. Its just not a good race track and like we saw in the weekend, rain makes it even worse.

It looks as if you only judge from the couch. Like I said before, this year the track was completely different from the years before! The layout was changed a bit with different options in a few corners but the main difference was the soil.

I've never been a fan of the track and I rode there, but when we arrived everyone in our group looked at the track and statet he wants the ride that thing immediatly. Saw a comment from Coenen when he said the track was good, even with the rain.

They used the heavy equipment between the motos to get the track back in shape after the downpour during EMX250, second motos where really good with different lines everywhere. For the amount of rain coming down the track held up good. I think the amount of sand really made the difference. The bikes we saw in the morning at a dry track (not flooded like the years before) had scoops or Pirelli MT32 mounted. Didn't look like T'thal. Pics from the second WMX race in the morning show the track like it was before the rain.

In the highlights video everyone can see how the guys used different lines around the course.

I agree with you regarding the room for speactators. Even with the open infield from years past the track was packed. Now without even more. Areas like the side on the main road were great for viewing but nothing like it should be

It looked like the front wheel was locked. Maybe dirt in the caliper or the front brake lever. Starting was not the issue from the distance

Teuschenthal was a great track but the last few years MXGP have ripped it eight ft deep and it’s been a rut-ruined shithole like far too many other tracks. Last year my knees and ankles were hurting just watching it.

I dnt understand why the sport is going so far away from its roots with big hills and proper natural challenges. But then I am a cantankerous old git now at 47 so maybe it’s just an old fart thing.

Yep. It sucked. Was boring to watch as follow the big rut became the game, no room to move around, very little passing, goat trail for sure.

Worst track of the year so far.

Its too small, and too tight for good racing, the layout and surface were better , but there are too many jumps, and not enough places to even try for a pass.

I agree with you but the track last week would give it a run for its money as the worst so far.

It was a great weekend, everyone complaining about the track, but we seen probably the best MXGP class qualifier yet this year. I enjoyed it all.

Four exceptional riders who couldn't even try to make a pass and kept trailing each other for 20mins + 2 laps because the track is damn' too tight and rutted. I'll take Gaildorf over Teutschenthal any day of the week.

Gaildorf at its worst is better than Teuschenthal at its best.

Fell trying to pass Renuax & broke the clutch lever, he had problems getting the Kawi fired up again.

Triumph better bring Farres to the states since he ages out of MX2 this year. The kids on it and the US team could use him. Also would like to see Mitch bring Valin over.

Yes and no. Plenty of pass attempts were made they just didn’t stick. It was great racing between 4 of the best. Could it have been better, yes it always could be.

I love Gaildorf, was there for the nations in 1991 watching wardy drifting his kx500 around on the hardpack. It's a fabulous natural track.

Lets be honest though, MXGP would ruin it. Like everything else they'd rip it to the moon and then soak it until it's a rut-riddled shadow of it's former self. We are a sport afraid of our roots and I genuinely don't get why.

I enjoyed it. Lots of fans, great atmosphere enjoyed the races and alwaus like how well organized the event is.

Is it the best track ever? No, but imo there was a lot of action on track during all races. Also nice to see good lineups in mxgp and mx2

They tangled in the 2nd moto also causing Febrve to go down.?

Valin had an invitation to test the Star Yamaha, and KTM is looking after him next year.

Does he want to come to the IS and race SX or do you think he’s staying in the gps?
