If you want a 2 stroke with a modern aluminum perimeter frame, counterbalancer, e-start, kick start back up, carb or throttle body injection options, kyb suspension, with red plastics, someone already makes that. These are closer to a spiritual successor of the CR250 than anything Honda will ever make again.

6/23/2026 1:34am rode a Honda CR250AF for about 6 years and I can confirm this. Got the chance to ride a friends 2024 TM300 for the first time last year in south tyrol. They threw me on a very crowded track with this bike and I felt immediately comfortable on it. I ride a CR144 AF most of the time:

I ride a 24 300SX with husky shock, pull rod and knuckle, revalved and sprung for my weight and speed (slow). I also run the KTM power parts low seat. I like this seat a lot because it’s only slightly lower and it’s flat/squared off just right. Even my friend who is about 4-5” taller than me commented on how much he liked my setup. 6/3/2026 2:43am the 2005 RM125 was even heavier at 96kg (claimed to be at 87.5kg by the munfacturer). A carbed KTM SX 125 weighs 89.5kg, while it was also claimed to be 87.5kg.... My CR144 with a 2020 CRF aluminum frame was lightest so far at only 87kg with pirelli tyres and standard tubes.

That was a fun read through…. I even read all the 450 stuff. But that 327 is premix baby!!! No oil injection shit. Premix and rip it! Things are more right in the world today!!

It looks as if you only judge from the couch. Like I said before, this year the track was completely different from the years before! The layout was changed a bit with different options in a few corners but the main difference was the soil. I've never been a fan of the track and I rode there, but when we arrived everyone in our group looked at the track and statet he wants the ride that thing immediatly. The poor sales tracked with declining testosterone levels in the population.. when 500 sales were strong, the term they/them didn’t exist. Then we invented the 450 thumper and effectively brought back the 500 with much better manners. But it still isn’t the ride that a 500 smoker is.
