Deegan, the next American Hero (or rather last hope)? My thoughts.

I just find it hard to believe that someone who wants to be the "next American" hero and is one of the winningest 250 riders in American history never rode a 250 at the Motocross of Nations for his country.

Oh no, they definitely matter. And Vialle spoke about his time in the US and how he would have liked to win outdoors aswell but also admitted that Deegan was really fast and hard to beat on the 250. But again.. 450s are completely different, why is it so hard for people to wait until we see Deegan actually race the 450? The constant 250 comparison is so fucking ass. I have a feeling some Deegan fans are afraid that he might not live up to the hype and eventually 250 stats is all they gonna have to go back to in the future. He's on a 450 now, let the 250 thing go, it doesn't matter anymore.

Maybe some grown men can appreciate a professional athlete that carries himself with class, who sets a high character example for the next generation of young riders, and doesn’t let the fame get to his head.

I understand that might be a difficult concept to grasp for some people with the mental capacity of a teenager, but I would like to challenge them to think critically on such a subject.

Not everyone is the same, and your ideas of what constitutes moral aptitude is different than someone else’s, both are highly subjective.  I can’t think of one thing Haiden has done that has caused a real harm in the world. If being young, cocky, and arrogant is a crime or shows a deep character flaw, then many of us are or were guilty as charged.

Saying that those who disagree with your subjective standards, “have the mental capacity of a teenager” is itself juvenile, surface level thinking.

In life you either have standards or you don’t. I stand by mine. You can stand by yours. If that’s what you call them.

Have a nice day.

The 250 stats matter because to a point they do indicate some level of success on a 450. Is it a perfect prediction tool? No. But it’s silly to argue they don’t matter at all

Jett had the same level of hype going into Pala 2023, and rightly so

But they certainly aren’t the end all be all

Are you denying the fact that most fans in any kind of sport rather root for their own countrymen (which is completely normal btw)? Or is that based on the "anti Jett" statement? Enlighten me.

Which I'm totally fine with... but even at that the 450 results will be speculation because they are now in different series, vs results when they actually raced.

Not denying the fact that people want their countrymen to win. But what's stupid is, if it's the ONLY reason like or dislike a racer.

At the podium Deegan will put his legs into Jett's pants while Jett is still wearing them, they will face each other as Deegan does a TikTok live referring to their stunt as a "Kangaroo Pouch", as he puts his phone down they will lock eyes, and for a moment all the noise and excitement will vanish to silence, stillness. The world will stop and become 2 men, athletes, competitors, in the prime of lives, beads of sweat glistening, legs bound in the same pants, faces inches away, lost in a moment

You’re right. And I bet you’ll say the same thing about your “standards” in 2-3 years when you’re in Deegans autograph line, praising him and begging for him to sign some 38 memorabilia you got off EBay.

Give me a break man.

Curious, would a cockwomble be from Wimbledon?

In the 250’s on tracks Vialle has never raced. But yes I can’t wait to see MX start, I’m tired of bench racing lol.

He worked Tom in 2023 and neither of them had raced those tracks.

Honestly the reverse split of Tom beating Deegs in SX And Deegs beating Tom in MX is bizarre

Nobody was anti Jett it was we were just tired of having him pushed on us so hard.  Why did we need to cut away from a 250 race to see him getting on his bike headed for the line.  It was getting stupid.  Speaking of stupid I don't care if Jett is from another country I won't ever root for Deegan over him.  Deegan is the worst in my opinion. He is right up there with Ronnie Mac when it comes to class

So I noticed something over the last years specially since Jett has moved up and some fans being very "anti Jett" and now recently the constant 250 career comparison with Deegan vs Jett and but comments like "Jett only had to beat privateers in 2023" really made me question this whole thing.

In 2022 we obviously all got to watch an all time season between Chase and Tomac and we all thought they had reached that "new level" we haven't seen before. Before Jett moved up (and even after his MXON debut) a lot of people were like: "Jett will race for third, he has no chance against Tomac and Chase".

Then Tomacs injury happened (sadly) and Jett went undefeated with Chase not leading a single lap while still looking like he's been riding on the edge behind Jett just like he did in 2022. Even Chase himself said he felt like he was going even faster than in 2022. I literally saw people here commenting that he lied (wtf?) and they called bullshit on that. They couldn't handle that the guy who apparently reached the "next level" last year couldn't even make a pass attempt on Jett.

Then in 2024 when Chase won the MX title after Jett got injured the same people here were like: "Chase found that new level again outdoors, Jett won't have a chance when he comes back, he doesn't want any of that smoke". Then first race back and Jett immediately smoked everybody again.

Back to silence until 2025 where Jett missed SX and the same thing started again during the second half of the SX season: "That's the best Chase has ever looked on a dirt bike, Jett will found out once outdoors starts". And since Chase crashed at Pala and despite him still winning Washougal and the Ironman Moto I barely read any positive comments about him anymore, kinda like people gave up on him?

It felt like Chase was that "american hero" here for a lot of people who was supposed to beat Jett and the only hope for a couple years.

Since then this completely shifted towards Deegan. The timing is obviously perfect with him just finishing his impeccable 250 career. He is now supposed to be the guy and probably last american hope for an unforeseeable amount of time. You can tell the constant 250 career comparison and dick riding is already at an all time high. In their head there is no doubt that Deegan will "rise to the top", we haven't even seen him on a 450 yet for one MX race and some are already crowning him as the next guy.

So I don't think most people are really "anti Jett", they just want americans to win more and I completely understand it. I think we should really appreciate what is happening right now, the hype is at an all time high and I haven't been this excited in a long time.

I hope "my thoughts" didn't annoy you guys and it wasn't too hard to read, I just wanted to get rid of it! 😅

American hero? Nope. Our only hope? Afraid so.

Come on man…really?  That’s weak since they have both raced the same number of Nationals on these tracks…But I’m with you lets get to the races already! Sometimes on here reading some of these threads is like watching The View….just a bunch of old cackling hens blindly pushing narratives that don’t matter….3 days!

Deegan is definitely the top in this scenario

I think RedBull has deeper resource pull than Monster, so they'll probably get to decide.  Or perhaps they cross collab, swap the top,  and do a dual release with opposing storylines so the cohort audiences see what they want.  The conflict interplay would push hype waves for a few weeks and move forward both pieces on the board.

????  What? How?  I'd put it in the realm of non gay things like being a Youtube influencer family or Attending the Met gala.

Wildly bizarre in fact. I’d like to see how Deeg’s would stand against the worlds best 450 guys like Tom, but he seems to keep ducking MXdN.
