Will you buy a suzuki, what do you want from suzuki

unfortuneately, the production bike is lacking a lot of development, and sadly multiple media and race bike builds prove it wouldnt really take much to improve the 450, shock change/setting, hc piston, efi tune and like thats it, 

New motor. Updated suspension. Please.

If they have not been testing anything new for the last one to two years, there is nothing new on the horizon. 

Does Suzuki even have a development team of engineers and riders? 

Bring back the RMX!

I don't KNOW this, but I suspect one of the recent improvements we've seen in the current generation of bikes is lighter rotating engine components. A lighter crank, piston, cam, clutch etc should allow an easier change in direction. Those are all things that would take time and money to develop, but I don't think any of then are production rule mandated. Kenny's bike might be way better in the hands of a high level pro than a stock bike with typical motor and suspension.

I still must eat my words and admit I was wrong. When Kenny went to Suzuki I said he would win races, but never compete for another championship. Clearly I was wrong.

Isn’t it more damning on the other manufacturers and bike development as a whole that an 8 year old chassis and 15 year old motor just won?

What do I want from suzi??? 

Well, they crushed it with the drz4s... the bike that I ride the most daily now days.... but on the moto side.... I'm totally down with what they sell rn... I love kickstart.... I have a lot of bikes and would rather not have yet another battery to tend to... until there is some giant real leap in performance... what they have now is awesome.. simple and affordable f yes.... 

People who buy bikes because someone won the supercross title on the factory ride that is the same color are stupid…

It's most damning on the sanctioning body that instituted a "production rule" which eliminated prototypes from racing in the U.S. 40 years ago. 

What had been a 15 year period of monumental development from the manufacturers turned into 4 year production cycles followed by "BNG" trends followed recently by "we didn't sell everything we produced...so you get it again this year!"

Bring back TRUE factory bikes!  Make the pits interesting again.

I would buy an off road model tomorrow that would be fantastic if they brought one back the other brands offer

I'm torn on this. As a still-active racer who (fortunately) buys a new bike every 2 - 3 years, I get to see and feel the micro changes they make and roll out on the production line due to racing. KTM, in particular, is very obvious with this. Annually, these are hard to feel, but over 2-3 years they are generally quite noticeable (depending on where in the generation you are). Not to mention additional things like the KTM CUO (litpro) feature, which is brilliant.

However, I do think the yearly cycle is too fast and too expensive for the factories and, by extension, the consumer. Bike pricing is outrageous these days, and Suzuki has just proven that such regular updates are unnecessary.

So moving to Factory chassis could very easily jeopardise that at the consumer level. In other motorcycle segments, bike and chassis development often lag far more than the consumer would like.

Regardless of the amazing success Roczen has/had, just the fact that Suzuki openly shows they are not really interested in being a top mx/sx manufacturer is a big negative for me... of course, it's a good bike, very fast, but the fact they haven't updated it for ages just gives me a bad feeling, I don't want to support a company that doesn't care about their product. When Apple stop developing the Iphone and only focuses on the Macbook, will you still buy the Iphone 5years later from the company who only change color on the case? (not a good comparison I know !!!)

If people didn’t, then OEMs wouldn’t race.

I've been to a handful of bike dealers in my area, ones that even sell Suzuki street bikes, and can't recall the last time that I've seen a RMZ in a showroom. 

Would I buy one in the future? Probably not. Not exactly brand loyal, currently on a Husky, but if I were to get another bike it probably would be a Yamaha or Honda
